as for most of us the black Friday sales are too good to pass up, instead of buying a bunch of gear I definitely don't need im going to buy a better rod then I have for 1/4 shakey heads and tubes. spinning rod, dobyns champion 703 or gloomis shakey head rod? they are both right around the same price. any suggestions between these 2?
Dobyns a tough rod. Im glad I get me few.
I have the 703 and absolutely love it for shaky heads. I don't fish tubes much anymore but the 703 is in my arsenal every day I hit the water. It's got enough strength for pulling fish from docks and brush piles, but enough tip to really cast the lighter baits. It's a fantastic rod fro skipping shaky heads up under docks ~c~
I've got no experience with the newer Loomis rods.
I have no experience with those rods. But I've really had my eye on the Dobyns line lately.

You wont be disappointed. I have put way more strain on these rods in certain situations that I swore would break them, and they just wont snap.
Even though I was looking at the champion 703, I'm a value shopper first. So for 239 I was able to get a 704 dx. Which I'm sure I will love and will now look to get a 703 champion by spring
For shakey heads and tubes I'd be looking at the Loomis 822, Falcon squirrel head, or if you can still find one the Yamamoto 7ft. medium is really good.
Picked up a St. Croix Legend Tournament rod from Tackle Warehouse today.
$215.00 plus free shipping. Saved $55.00 off regular price.
Might try them to see what kind discount they have on Dobyns and gLoomis.
