I don't have the money or storage space on my boat to carry 5-7 different setups for different techniques, so my goal is to only carry 3 that will allow me to do everything I need to. My first two setups are locked in and I'm looking for reel advice on the 3rd.
It's going to be for 3/8-1/2 oz crankbaits (6-12 ft divers) and Spinnerbaits and mounted on a 6'6' MH Shimano Clarus Rod. My options are a Shimano Calcutta 200 GTB or a Shimano Curado 200i.
Aaaand go.....
Curado I, that calcutta just weighs too much, especially for a 6'6" rod.gl
I think a MH rod is too stiff. You run the risk of pulling baits away from fish before getting a good hookset. I'd go M/fast.

I have a 6'6" Clarus M as well- definitely too light for trying to pull a DT-10

Deep down I know this is the right answer, but my other two setups both have Curado's and the Calcutta has always been my "holy grail". I love round reels.

Also- can you clarify what you mean by too heavy? Too heavy to hold and cast all day, or too heavy for those types of lures?

Too heavy to cast on a short rod, what does it weigh, 9-10oz's? That's pretty heavy compared to most reels today, if thats what you got to work with it will work great as far as power, ipt. Might be a personal thing, I prefer very light weight reels. Gl.
Tell Santa you would like a Dobyns 705CB... Cranks, Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits no problem... ~shhh
Personally, I'm not a fan of a rod that short for diving baits and I would like something more moderate ,. Sounds like it would make a good spinnerbait rod.
Something like a Powell 723 would do both..
Anyway as to the reel, of those 2 I'd take the curado
