I'm looking for a mold for flipping milfoil and lillies. I want to use 3/4 oz most of the time but I would prefer to use 1oz if fish allow or settle for a 1/2 oz if that's what they want. The only jig I can find is a poison jig. Are they good jigs and is the hook strong ? . I have 2 arky style jigs but they only go up to 1/2 oz. I really need the 3/4 oz . So is this my only option or is there something else out there?
Thanks jason

I've used all of these. You asked specifically about moulds - if these are in production there's a mould out there w/ 3/4 and 1 oz options.
FYI - if you elect to buy vc make your own, I use all of these. Good hooks, durable paint jobs.
Have you checked with Bo and Nutech? When it comes to bass fishin' especially in the weeds he has you covered.
If you're going to mold them yourself, Do It has a lot of different styles, but not all are that heavy. As far as hooks, I've modified quite a few of my molds so I could fit heavier hooks in them. Fairly easy to do with a Dremel tool. The hook recommended for the Poison tail mold is stout, but a wider gap hook too. if you wanted something else it would likely require modification.
I have the Do It Poison tail molds & they do well in some types of weeds. My experience with them has been primarily in wood or Spadderdock pads, and they work fine. Not sure how well in milfoil or lilly pads they would be, as there was none in places I fished but IMO it's a good head design for general use too.
I make the Poison Tail jig and it works well in coontail and milfoil also. One mold has 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 while the other has 1/2, 3/4 and 1 oz. The mustad hook is, to my knowledge, the only wide gap hook made for it, it is a stout hook. I've made some with a mix of hair and silicone that work well.

Thanks I just ordered the poison tail mold with the heavier wieghts . I will see if I like it and if I don't I might try to make one of my own.
Thanks
I have a problem with incomplete pours, you may have to tilt the mold and you want it HOT when you pour.

Rodney, good info! ~c~
I have several molds that are a bit difficult to pour and do the same things. Plus, I'll "soot" them with a candle and have opened up the sprue hole a bit with a Dremel on some. I've tried some silicone spray on a few too, which also seems to help. Just have to be careful & spray them when cool as the propellant is flammable.
I have an electric hot plate too I use to preheat my molds & keep them hot between pours. Keeping them hot usually results in the "best" pours as far as complete & how the look. :)
Thanks I pour my molds by pouring 3 runs of blanks and then a good soot from candle and 2 more blank runs . I also add some candle wax to the lead every so often. Small pieces of candle wax cause it does catch fire . I've been doing this to my jig heads and drop shot molds and had very good turnouts

Now that is good to know to about keeping the mold warm.

I use this one for flipping !!! http://www.barlowstackle.com/Do-It-Trokar-Arky-Weedless-Jig-Mold-P2744C56.aspx
I also have the Poison tail, the Trokar football and brush jig and also the swim jig !!!! The jig I use the most is probably the Poison Tail, you can flip it, swim it or drag it !!!!
I use a spray parting compound, mine came from ebay but you can find them from bullet making suppliers, you don't need to coat the mold every time. If I didn't have the few molds I do have I would be buying NU-TECH jig heads, don't tell Bo though, my molds may disappear on me. lo

Here are a few of the poison tails I made
