I was on Conesus Lake yesterday, Conesus is a touch over 8 miles long and at the widest about 1 mile, mean depth is 38 feet. It is a grass filled lake, the DEC is trying to eliminate the hydrilla but there is still a decent to good amount of natives including coontail. Conesus gets a ton of pressure, it's known as a big fish lake, both lmb and smb, it also has panfish, walleye, pike and for food fish, alewives. I finally got into fish when I switched over to drop shot, it's nothing to see a 30 boat tournament and 95% of the anglers using spinning gear. There is an open tournament every Tuesday evening 6:00 til 9:00, 3 fish limit and not unusual for 16 lbs to win it.

So Rodney glad you get on some fish and had a good day.
Love it or hate it vegetation breeds strong eco systems and big bass.
Coontail is probably the best native grass ever ~c~ Is it a fairly clear lake, as far as water clarity?
Thanks for the report ~c~
It has visibility to 5 or 6 feet, docks can be good but for me I like being in the weeds with a drop shot.

Mike, This is my home lake where I grew up. For some reason it stands the test of time. I have fished it for 30 plus years ( tournaments) and year in and out it has alway taken around 20 lbs. to cash. I dont know how it holds up to the pressure but always does
