I just picked up a spool of Spiderwire Stealth Glo-Vis 65lb. braid at Wal-Mart on clearance for $3...is this stuff any good or is it garbage and I wasted money?
I've never tried that one before but some people love the spiderwire brand so it might be OK. If not for $3 you haven't lost a lot of money.

This,.
You definitely over paid ~roflmao
In all honesty 65lb spiderwire should be plenty good and at that price. I just had a bad experience with some lower test spiderwire stealth. Maybe just a bad batch but it made me run away from that stuff. Though if I found it on sale for 3 bucks and that high of test I would probably try it again.
I just wouldn't want to lose a nice lure if the line was garbage and snapped on a hookset or even on the cast...not really worried about the $3 I spent on the line, more worried about a $20+ lure I might lose...lol.

It was easy for me to tell I had bad line. I could literally hold a piece in either hand and pull and snap the line with not enough force to even cut my hands lol.
I was using 15 or 20lb. I really don't think I was getting anywhere near that kind of pressure with my bare hands.
I did lose a nice Snook and several other fish with that line before I unspooled it from my spinning reel. But again, I don't think you'll encounter that problem with 65.
I have used it for night fishing. Works great for pitching a jig..etc. Never really tried long casts.
if you have a black light in your boat it really shows up. Even by just the light of the moon it does glow some
I've never fished Glo-Vis but I fished Spiderwire and Spiderwire Stealth for many years. It's very good. I have since found what I think is better (Power Pro Super Slick) but I still use some Spiderwire Stealth at times.
Spiderwire tends to need retied a lot more often. It seems to wear and fray more easily that some. You got a great deal on it and at $3/spool I would have bought a few myself.
I use Glo-Vis almost exclusively. I wish my Walmart would have some for $3. That's even cheaper than my discount from Spiderwire. :surrender:

I use power pro red 30 lb and love it! Have reeled in fish around stumps and rocks and never came close to breaking or anything! Love it ❤️
