Title: Korea Bass Fishing Report - HapCheon Lake - 26 & 27-Jan-2019
Post by: Bassinkorea on January 29, 2019, 07:17:25 PM
HapCheon Lake, 26 and 27 Jan 2019

26th Jan
Cold front came through on this day
Air temps, lows of 21f ~ highs of  38f
Strong cold winds upto 15mph plus gusts

27th Jan
End of cold front in the morning
Air temps, lows of 15f ~ highs of  50f
Little to no wind

Water temps were 45 ~ 47f on both days.

Spent most of Saturday idling around looking for and marking schools of baitfish. We didn't find many groups of bass on the sonar as we were expecting on this lake at this time of year. Talking with other anglers on Sunday morning, they had the same finding. We fished a few spots but didn't find any fish or patterns.

Sunday, we had a game plan and stuck with it all day, fishing slightly shallower areas with grass and big rocks in depths around 25 foot. My fishing buddy had a nice bass on a shakeyhead that threw the hook before we could get it close to the net, then with 30 minutes remaining I hooked into a nice 3.5lber on a dropshot. Five minutes later, I got snagged on the bottom and lost the dropshot rig. WIth time running out and not waning to retie another dropshot rig, I picked up my Neg rig rod and within a couple of casts landed a 6lber.

If I didn't know better, I'd say it sounds like you were fishing Claytor Lake here. That 6 pounder is another dead give-away.  ~roflmao Nice job!

We didn't place as we only had 2 bass to weigh in. Had we caught a limit we would have stood a chance.

And no on the big bass, someone weighed in a 7lber   :'(

Exactly Mike, I was well pleased. And on top of all that, the Triton performed beautifully   ~c~
