Post by: SpankysRods on March 28, 2019, 05:55:35 PM
Ok guys I need a new jerkbait rod. My old one is now a custom 2 piece...... What does everyone recommend? Less than 200 preferably. Thanks

The rod I use for jerk bait fishing is a 7ft BPS Extreme (MH) casting rod.

I've always thought when it comes to stickbait rods Falcon had the actions figured out.
Personally I like the weightless worm rod for the vision 110 or Mcstick ect.
The Mike Mclelland signature jerkbait rod is really good and I think it's based off the weightless worm .
The older jerkbait special is another option , personally I always thought it fished a touch light but also made a great popper rod.

BPS crankin stick med action 7 foot, 61/2 foot if you're fishing around cover, more accurate casting, that's for baitcaster. For spinning I use BPS BIONIC BLADES but they're the older ones, the PRO QUALIFIER 2 in a med action and same lengths as the baitcasters.

I picked up a St Croix Mojo Bass topwater rod which I plan to use for jerkbaits as well, which is a M/XF rod.
