Yes I know.. its a weekday, but I'm on VACATION!! lo lo Fished the glades solo today, and I arrived at 41 a little past 8am. There were several boats at the ramp surprisingly. I headed West, and stopped before the weir. Quickly noticed the water looked like chocolate milk. Started with the HB frog and worked the area for a bit before my first fish. Had a few more strikes but they were few and far between. Picked up the SB for a bit and caught a couple, but again few and far between.

Made a run farther West past the bridge but before the buoy, and I picked up the frog again. This time I cast into a cluster of pads and the water erupted. I paused for a second, saw my line moving to the right, and slammed the hooks home!! It was a beautiful 4lbr.

Worked the frog some more but it was futile. I got on the outboard and went to the North side. Water was a lot cleaner, but again, dead. Looked at my watch, and decided to load up and head to 35.
Launched on the West ramp, and made my way to the Miami canal North. Quickly noticed 4 big tourist airboats. :'( :'( ... looks like they decided to move their operations to the Miami Canal because they were buzzing up and down the canal full of passengers.

Started fishing after I ran for a bit to get away from the tourists. Upon stopping, I caught a bass on my frog. Little guy. Threw the frog some more and nothing!! Through the SB for a bit and nothing!! Then I decided to flip and caught several nice bass. After that bite slowed down, I switched to assortment of speed worms and that did the trick. Caught some more bass, and lost a few nicer ones.

Right before I was going to call the outing quits, I saw a really nice bass under some timber casually sunning itself. I pitched my WM Uvibe over and the worm landed over a low branch, and was barely in the water. I slowly raised the worm and let it fall slowly back into the water when the bass gingerly swam over and slurped my worm. Not believing what I just saw, I confirmed my worm was gone and set the hook hard!! That bass took off to deeper water like a rocket!! After few runs, I successfully lipped her. Weighed her and she was 4.5lbs.

Wrapped up the outing around 3pm, looked at my counter, and I only landed 13 bass. Pretty slow day considering the numbers Matt and I caught just a few days ago. But hey.. that's bass fishing in the Glades.

Thanks for the report. ~c~ Glad you got a few quality bass in the mix. What a difference a few days, or even just a few hours can make when alley fishing. You just never know unless you throw a bait.
I have noticed that there are a lot more professional guides on the alley then ever before. I think some have moved from the O, because of conditions.

Good question Rick. I don't have a clue. But they have 4 airboats out there now. That other canal they used to launch of was empty.

As to the ABs they have probably scared off all the gators they were showing to folks so now they need another area for a bit.
Those things can run on land so I doubt it's the low water in Big O.

For me it's not the airboats I was talking about. It's the guides with their big bass boats taking clients out at first light on MM41. There has been at least 4 guides that don't usually inhabit those areas of the glades. They have moved from some other area.
