Well, I'm cutting out of work at noon to go pick up my boat in Lincoln. Now that I will no longer have to do the tourneys out of that POS jon, I may not be able to do another tourney. Mozingo is definately out as I am going to Kansas. Then I start a new job over at the OSS that may not allow me to skate out every other Wednesday. I am going to try to schedule leave for Okoboji but who knows.
Plan on taking the boat to Manawa tomorrow after work.
~SM Ron
Please do tell what type it is...
I sure hope it looks better than Skippy's and Javelina's air/mud boats...
But, I must ponder, why get a new boat, then transfer jobs that doesn't allow the participation in a sanctioned AF intramural sport?
Never had much use for the OSS, after Korea...
2002 Trition 186 Magnum (single console) with a Merc 150 XR6. 74lb thrust Motorguide with built in transducer for the Lowrance X87 at bow and a X51 at console. And a cover.
Now about the OSS; except for the tourneys, it was too good of an offer to pass up.
~SM Ron
Sweet! You'll be the belle of the ball, when compared to the outdoor rec twins...
That thing should scoot pretty good too.
BT
Keep stirring the pot BT.....less than a week ;D
Regardles of my stirring ability, the only thing that matters is if Super Ron smokes you and Skippy in his new ride...but he said he won't be there.
Smokes us running or fishing? Either way, that's fine. Everybody twinkies... i mean doughnuts and you don't catch fish going 60 mph.
I told ya the other day, ease up on the twinkies and you'll crack that 60mph mark.
What about you?? You'll be there, bell of the ball....... :roll2:
You'll have to do it for him. >:D
Geez, a couple of rookies go out and buy these little 17ft wannabe fishing boats and they think they can talk smack!!!!
I have more deck space than you have boat, bwahahaha
And besides, it takes 2 outdoor rec twins to make one fat BT, :roll2:
Hmm where do I start?
The word "Jamokes" comes to mind as I ponder a response. Since when does an 18' Cajun have that much deck? 2. You are right one one part...it does take two wiffle-ball renters to mentally equal one fat BT. However, by my expert judging ability, you two pots should gander in a mirror before calling any kettle black.
one-one thousand
two-one thousand
oh heck you probably still haven't figured that one out
And Belle of the ball is a compliment. Thanks.
O F BT
So much for Rons new boat topic.....once again, oneupsmanship.
Even with your 3rd grade math education you can count over 19ft. Yes, 19ft Cajun
And we have more than just wiffle balls, Heck, on wed I`ll rent you a couple of bass...you`re gonna need them.
Just remember, weebles wobble but they don`t fall down
And what was that O F BT (old and fat bassthumb???) Bwahahahahahaha
Skipper,
What do you mean by a wannabe 17 ft bass boat? It's 18 1/2. Don't cut me short. And just remember, I wasn't the one who started the trash talking. I didn't say I was going to smoke anyone. I just got tired of fishing with my feet wet and not being able to go places I wanted.
And weeble wobbles in the hands of ~SM Ron do fall down. Because if I can't break it, it can't be broke.
Was planning on hitting Manawa after work but with the wind the way it is, I probably won't. Don't want my first time in the new boat to with 30+ mph winds.

Man up and fish ~SM woman
Just so the Wiffle-ballers ~b~know, I WILL fish in 30 MPH wind, I won't fish in Manawa. That's beacuse teh only keeper over there is wising up and won't bite lures anymore.
|BT| ~fff
I`m with you BT on fishing in the wind.......BUT, I know for a fact there are at least 2 fish in manawa...............Get that boat out there ~SM super woman....
I'd have to have a pic of both fish, in hand, at the same time for me to believe it. Since you can't put the ~beer~ down, I'm pretty sure there is only one...
|BT|
I took the boat out before I read the ~SM Woman cracks. I got your ~SM Woman right ^-^.
Anyway. With 3/4 tank of gas, loaded with gear, and me, my son, and my wife in the boat, she hit 55 before I backed off. I probably could have messed with the trim a little more and got 57 but Manawa ain't that big.
Boat handled well but I thought the steering was really tight at slow speeds, especially turning to the left. Don't know if this normal or not (first bass boat and all).
Biggest issue for me was the trolling motor. Never used a foot controlled trolling motor. That will take a little getting use to.
Oh, by the way: No fish. Only fished for about 30 minutes. Spent most of the time running back and forth on the lake. Did have a couple of small hit's but that's about that.
~SM Ron
~SM,
spray some Wd-40 back on your cables/steering brackets, that should/will loosen them up and not collect grit in the process. ~bb
Do you have a jackplate? What pitch prop are you running, RPM's at WOT (wide open throttle)? Stainless prop or Alum?
As for the ~SM woman comments... what did you expect on this board??? Too windy???? ahhhh never!!! >:D
Six inch jack plate. 4 Blade stainless steal prop. Don't know about the pitch and don't have an RPM gauge.
I will try the WD 40.
~SM Ron
No Tach??? :-\
It's got a tach and speedo. Give ~SM some time to figure it out.
I was down in Lincoln this past weekend, popped in to look at some boats. Talked with a salesman that sold ~SM his boat. Tach and speedo on the instrument panel.
~SM ??
This thread kinda reminds me of a joke:
Two Iowans go into a marina...
I had no idea you were from Iowa BT
See if you can swing that twinkie and hit this wiffle ball????

jarred my memory too. it starts out like this... you have to sing it.....maybe
Deano could but a beat to it...... "big guy in a little boat"
My mistake. It's got a tach. But I spent time looking at other things (mostly speed) and didn't even notice the tach.
