I just purchased the new Levante Diablo Spec R from the good folks at American Legacy fishing.
It's really a impressive rod. Sensitivity, build quality, action it's got it all. The spec R is a versatile stick.
Jigs, spinnerbaits, paddletails not much it couldn't do.
I think it fishes way above it's $200 price point. I can see a few more in my future.

I love reading about all the different rods, what do you personally use this one for?
Mike, It's a great all purpose deal.. Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits. Paddle tails like the 3.3 or 3.8.
I bought to use as a 5/16 finesse jig rod.
Thanks, I know you mentioned the all purpose but it's good to hear what "rod gurus" actually use them for. ;)
I think it has enough tip to throw the ol' merthiolate floatin worm.. It's time.

Fun fishing right there ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
I was thinking of picking one up myself. Looking for an all around use rod with a lot of Texas/Carolina rigs. I fish from shore mostly and only carry two rods at the most. How would you compare it to the Dobyns Champion XP? Again, looking for a "do all" rod.
The Levante is a more sensitive rod than the XP. I like the Megabass reel seat although the grip feels a touch smaller than most.
The Diablo spec R is a great all around rod but I wouldn't go too heavy with a Carolina rig.
The Braillist would also be worth a look .
Thanks for the info. Heavy for me is 1/4oz. I will look at the other rod right now.
