Smaller row boat transoms usually have mounted a gas motor or trolling motor. Transducer mounts suggested by Minn Kota: screw in the bracket to the transom or use a pipe clamp to mount it under the trolling motor in front of the prop. I've never been to keen on either especially since I use my finder on a canoe, flat bottom boat and small V bottom with or without a trolling motor. Problem: portability.
Just so happened I was dragged to the dollar store by the wife and saw on display a brass door wreath hanger:

An idea came to me: why not attach it to a board and bend it so it can be clamped to the transom:

A cross piece can be attached for the transducer bracket if needed and the wire secured using wire straps:

A easy on/off clamp secures the set-up to the transom and allow the transducer to adjusted below the water line.
