What fishing I've done this year so far has been on Honeoye Lake a Finger Lake, lot's of good panfish, walleye, pickerel and of course bass, small and large mouth. 4.5 miles long, ,8 miles at the widest, 30 foot max depth, nice little lake with a ton of cottages or homes on it. It's a dishpan lake, not many sharp breaks, normally it's loaded with grass but this year they're mostly straggelly catch your line where you find them and they seem to peak at about 10-11 feet, used to be 15 sometimes more. It's got the only dock I can deal with with my knee right now, the rest I've got go up or down and at Conesus they have a concrete wall that tapers down to the docks, I don't need to deal with that right now. I missed the crappie sdpawn because of my back but finally have made it for some bass fishing. With the lack of good grass cover and lack of other cover, no trees or lumber, a few rocks but many, it's been interesting. The last trip it was, for me, the shallow bite even though the water temps are up a bit. It's about a 50 minute drive for me, scenic so it's not bad on the return trip, it's pretty lake surrounded by wooded hills, the fish ing can be downright great and occasiaonlly the big girls come out to play, though many find they're way to a dinner table. It gets a lot of pressure, 40-50-60 fishing boats at the ramp aren't unusual with 30 or more during the week. Smaller baits do better. I've enjoyed the times I've been there this year, it's good to just get out, and I've found a couple things out the last couple of trips which is good.
