Title: Winterizing 2006 Mercury Optimax 115 EFI
Post by: Green_Monster on October 29, 2019, 08:31:25 AM
Hey all! I typically take my boat to get the motor winterized but figured I would give it a shot myself this year. I have read some information on other forums and watched some videos. Does anyone else have the same motor that can tell me how and what you do for winterizing?

I just want to be sure that I do thing correctly so not to have issues come spring.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Change the lower unit fluid, pull the prop and check for line and lube the prop shaft, marine stabil in the gas tank with a full tank, fill the oil reservoir, fog the cylinders and that should cover it, a 2 stroke is a 2 stroke. I have an 09 50, the only thing I do different is drain the carbs, I don't have fuel injection.
