I hope I can find a bank I can get too with all my spots being in Forest Preserve around here.  It's suppose to reach 70 one day next week so I'm going to drive around and check to see if I can find a spot.

Yesterday went to check out a new to me pond/lake at one of the big IT companies campus.  Limited bank access, primarily due to overhanging trees and vegetation.  No clear path/trail around, so a lot of bushwhacking and land navigating.

Was throwing a weightless texas rigged trick worm, since the bottom was covered in vegetation and didn't want to risk a crankbait at this new location.  Well, the wind started to pick up a lot making the weightless texas rig hard to work with.  So I found a small cove protected by wind and found a school of crappie to hook into.

Overall, not a bad lake.  Will be going back for sure and trying some crankbaits now that I have 1/2 the lake fished.  Also caught first ever white crappie and a new PS (personal small) bass here.

Thanks Lou for making a new thread! Bank fishing is something that I think we all enjoy.

That's actually a good sign. That means that the bigger fish in there are spawning and having success. Now go back there and catch his Momma  ;)

I got out last night and got to do some fishing for about 2.5 hours at a local reservoir. I ended up catching 7 from the bank. 6 on a spinnerbait, and 1 on a football jig. With the warming weather and sun, the fish are starting to push up against the banks. Nows the time of year where bank fisherman can really catch some nice fish in good numbers.

Hey guys... Share some photos... The tables  have turned on me. I can't go shore fishing in my neck of the woods, just not much shore on cypress tree lakes.

Fish, cool sunrises or sets, wildlife... share with us what you see out there beating the banks :-*

Yes they are. Mayans hang out by the waters edge.  We have these by the thousands. Pea's hang out by the waters edge when spawing. If not they cruise the ledges, and culverts.

Yes you can. I personally have never eaten a MC or Peacock, but from what I hear they are good eating. Oscar's apparently taste good too, but I'm not eating anything that comes out of our waters.

I was a security guard there for a while, saw some strange stuff go on.

But there were plenty of fish in those ponds ten years ago. One of my coworkers used to come in early and spend an hour or two fishing before work. I wasn't back into fishing yet, but he caught quite a few.

Fished my neighborhood canal again today, but man, was it busy. Never in all the years I have been fishing these canals have I encountered so many people fishing the same stretch I was on. Fortunately I was able to catch 3.

Kind-of went out this weekend. We wanted to explore around a lake we fish fairly often some pretty big pike and some decent bass in there so we hiked around most of it and it was really clear, water clarity 10+ feet. Got to a shallow spot I could see a good size pike and two schools of bass in the shallows which was amazing to me since it was 45° out. Sprinted back to the car grabbed my rod came back and tried to get em, only brought a few baits I had a few followers but no takers. Only got to fish for 20ish minutes though. It was cool seeing that many fish.

Went out yesterday after going into work for a bit, and fished the other half of the IT company's lake which is un-manicured and a bit of bushwhacking involved.

Started off with a crankbait again with previous luck using this same one.  Ended up catching a 2:1 ratio of catfish to bass with it somehow.

After deciding to switch things to my tried and true rig (weightless texas rigged trick worm) and started having much better luck but only finding dinks.  Also noticed that the fish were holding much closer to the bank (3-4 off), which gave the rig an advantage.

Overall not a bad way to spend a sunny day in the 80's.

Went out later last night to a new lake to me but a really big fishing lake here in Michigan. Could only really shore fish and fish from some tall piers but I landed 2 small bass just dinks around 1lb, I also caught a nice sunfish on a panfish lure. Sorry no pictures my phone was dead.

Bass were non-existent for me again, today. Did manage to hook up with another nice Peacock, only to have it come unbuttoned on two separate occasions, and two different baits. Still can't explain that, but such is fishing. I did manage to hook into this nice Mayan cichlid, so I didn't technically skunk.

The spinnerbait was the ticket again today. I threw the chatterbait more than the spinnerbait and it only got me one small dink. They really want that slow rolled spinnerbait, just barely creeping along off the bottom.

Went out again, not as productive as yesterday unfortunately. I have been hunting one particular big Pea for two outings now.  He was on to me fairly quick because he kept darting to deeper water, which leads me to believe he's been caught before. I'll try again tomorrow.  ~bb

Looks like a nice place to fish and sorry you couldn't get any of them bass to bite. I'm not a Tapatalk user but Lou uses it all the time and when he gets back he can help answer that question for you.
Nice fish Lou and sorry the (https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/6141/cE7ci0.gif) chased you off.  :'(

Yes... I completely forgot about that.  :surrender: :surrender: VIP gives you unlimited picture posting ability for $5 a year I think, unless Tapatalk changed it, and the free version gives limited picture posting capabilities. I apologize for the misinformation. I became a VIP years ago and TT charges me automatically every year.

Fished the same area, yesterday that I fished on Fri, thinking I could continue where I left off. Wrong!! I assumed the bite would be same since the conditions were similar. Overcast, windy, and passing rains. Highlights of my outing were; I think I came across the same Snook twice? The first time, the Snook briefly followed my spinner bait, and over an hour later, in a different location but along the same grass line however, the Snook blew up on my spinnerbait, but missed it.  :'(
The one bass I did manage to catch, was caught unexpectedly as my spinnerbait approached me, and was in inches of water.

Got in my X-Zone lures from the contest and decided to go try out the Adrenaline Bug.  Was a bit windy so decided to go with a Texas rig so I could throw it through the wind.  Only caught 1 that day, but it was a good size one 19" long 16.5" around.

Only downside, the Adrenaline Bug is so soft the bullet weight tore up the front of it after a couple hours casting.
