Title: Hapcheon Lake
Post by: Nardecchiad on May 17, 2020, 04:07:06 AM
Does anyone know if there are places to park and launch a tube at Hapcheon Lake, South Korea? Ive been only fishing the river in North Daegu and a few small ponds but Id like to get out on a lake when the tube I ordered arrives. Thanks!

Since you will be fishing from a tube, you will be able to launch from just about anywhere. But, there are areas down by the dam that you are not allowed to fish.

I will make and post a map showing two places that I know of that will get you started.

I really appreciate it! I just left Central Texas and will be here for a few years. Would really like to learn this lake.

Check these areas out. The more north one is in a great little cove that me and my buddy caught a bunch of fish in.

Welcome to UB.com and Korea!

Hapcheon has some really nice bass in there. I caught a 5 and a 6lber in there last winter. It fishes really well in the winter months and never freezes over like other waters in the area.

Excellent. Great places to get started off the main lake and the boat waves :) Would you know if I will  need to pay to park or launch?

The cove area is just a little dirt road off the main road. Just park in a place that doesn't block anyone else.
The other area has a big parking area and small camping ground near a soccer ground, and as far as I know there isn't any parking fees.
As for launching fees, most places in Korea don't charge for launching, mainly because the ramps are rather poor, not what you'll be used to back home.

Just south of the soccer ground there is another launch that is used by the "boating licence school" and they may charge a launch fee, but everywhere else is free.

I hear ya, I've been here for years and still struggle to get GOOD info.

Please make sure to wear a PFD of some kind when out on the water, it is Korean law.

Please come back and share your experiences with us as well as ask any more question you might have. I'm online most of the day   lo lo
