Title: Something to pass the time
Post by: Pipepro on November 25, 2020, 11:11:55 AM
I've had this crazy idea in my head for many years about a custom cribbage board. Something totally different than the flat track boards I was used to playing on. I just sorta dove into this and let it evolve as I went. The pieces are Red Oak and Purple heart all 1/8" thick. Its a crazy amount of time to glue all these things together but in the end it was totally worth it. It has a lazy susan bearing fitted. Into the base so it spins as you go up the steps to the top.

I liked it so much I decided to make some for Christmas presents. Not much I can do with a bum arm but I've been gluing up little pieces whenever my arm feels like it.  The next 3 are different woods, Walnut, Hard Maple, Blood wood and Aspen. I can't wait to see them with a coat of poly. I like it. No one makes things for themselves anymore. Good for you.

Thanks! The base is 11.5" in diameter. And it stands about 16.5" tall.

That is cool.  Could also just sell them as is, without the holes, as art/sculpture.

Haha! Thanks guys. Cribbage is a fun card game I learned while I was in the Navy.  Now my wife and I play a few games a week and she even let's me win one here and there.

The lazy Susan idea is especially clever; it'll make the game so much more fun.
