**spoiler- caught a 7lb 6oz bass!!!**
Got my boat back yesterday after the crack was fixed and had to get on the water. Cross is close so headed there. Launched at Barron's to avoid the wind and headed to 40 & 8/Johnsons area. Water was clear and had a weird algae bloom seeming to be going on way back in the back so fished out and hit mostly stuff just off the main lake but still in the trees. Water temps were 61-63° and I only had 1 catch(hybrid) on a crank and 1 follow to the boat for bass. Hit some docks all along the southern shore avoiding the wind and not a single bite. Main lake temps were 58-59°. Decided kinda last minute to go up north and fish some semi protected pockets and Finally caught some! Chatterbait with a green pumpkin skirt and a MT sinsation trailer in baby bass. 4 fish in the one pocket and had a 4lb 12oz bass as well!! They were just scattered around in about 2' but if a tree was close seemed to help. Then hit some windy stuff and no luck so circled back to a spot I hadn't hit and found one on a bed!! Male and female were locked on and didn't move off. Took cycling thru several baits and 1 boat position change and then Bam the male went to attack and the female knocked him out of the way and hit!! Now I thought this was a 5lber but when she hit and I barely moved her on the hookset I knew better then! She fought hard and never wanted to give up. Got the net under her and whew was super excited!!! I will try and attach the video but the file is probably too large. This fish weighed 7lbs 6oz and is in my Top 5 bass overall list!! Big fat belly and I don't think she has spawned yet. Glad to take a few pics and let her go. She ate a chartreuse fluke-I buy those just cus I see them really good. Turned an OK day into a heck yeah yippee woo-hoo day!! Fishing barefoot sure felt good after freezing all last week too!
Ok so I have mp4 videos(Samsung) how do I change it to something else? Heck I'll email em to someone else if they will change and post it!
Today was a 6.5 on the bass forecast and 4 of my fish came between 1530 and 1555! So the major Did work!
