Title: Issue with Lews Spinning Reel
Post by: billrose12 on March 26, 2022, 08:01:47 PM
Guys, I am in need of some advice. I took apart my Lews Custom Pro Spinning Reel (TLC2000). Everything went fine but when I put the handle in, I can feel a bit of a little grinding on it. If I spin the pinion gear with the handle out it's smooth as butter. But the handle changes it up. It wasn't like this before. Just need some advice from someone that is more experienced with spinning reels. I have the schematic and followed it to a T but maybe I got a washer or shim mixed up.

Hi. I'm sure Mike or Brent will be along soon to answer. They are great with reels.

Send it to Lew's, they'll fix it for cheap and send it back.  I've sent reels to them out of warranty and they've fixed them and sent them back free of charge....

I don't work on spinning reels but I'd look at the handle knob. If everything works great without the handle, then maybe the handle knob has an issue?

I'm with Apendland, they will fix and turn it around quickly.
