Title: Dobyns Maverick Series Rods
Post by: Bretts_daddy on April 13, 2022, 12:05:51 PM
I know these are brand new to the market but just wondering if anybody has been able to test them out on the water yet? How do they compare to the Fury series? I expect typical great Dobyns quality but do they meet those expectations?

I haven't got my hands on one yet but I know Gary is excited about them so I imagine they are going to be a big hit.

Just my 704C.  Used it for spinnerbaits.  Great power and tip.  Balance is super.  This is a great blank.  For moving baits, it's an awesome choice but it's no slouch for feel either. It's lighter than I anticipated.   Incredible value rod!

How do you think it would be for a dock skipping rod for jigs, soft plastics and chatter baits?

I have not used one,  but I have handled a couple different models and I think they are going to be a big addition to Dobyn's line up.  From what I could tell,  with only a $20 difference between the Maverick and the Colt series,  the Maverick will be a much better deal.
