Title: Camp Far West Fishing Date
Post by: Pat Dilling on August 09, 2022, 10:16:22 AM
Fishing continues! For our weekly fishing date, Kate and I had fun at Camp Far West Lake today. Not too hot, we were heading home by 1.  Up the river was slow, no topwater that I had hoped for.  Finally switched to Ned Rigs on steep rock banks and caught some.  Moved out to the main lake and found active suspended fish.  Sat around them for a while and caught fish on the Ned, jerkbait, 3.8 Keitech swimbait, and on a spybait.  Decent quality spotted bass 2.24, 2.42 and 2.64.  Those little tiny trebles on the spybait made for a long fun fight.

A great kayak lake, especially now when it is low.  I will warn you, in the summer time it goes nuts on the week-end with hot boats, wake boats and jet skis.  During those times we go early in the day on week-days.
