Title: Apollo Park 17 Sep 22
Post by: BassmanRudy on September 17, 2022, 07:17:03 PM
I haven't read anything specifically saying Apollo "has" bass in it but it's close, large(says 25 acres online) and easy to fish from the bank so went today. I fished 4 hours and caught 1 decent catfish on a green pumpkin chatterbait. Don't think I had any other bites. Rotated thru-
several soft plastics on a t-rig
Multiple squarebill cranks
Chatterbait- stayed with 1 color

The lake seems mostly shallow and has a really "green" tint to it. Saw lots of small minnows near the shoreline but couldn't tell what they were. Was windy and they also had several aerator type things helping keep the lake moving. I'll have to try some different stuff next time- maybe shaky head and in a few different places.

It likely has bass, birds and other things transport eggs, but you could take a couple from the bass and start your own brew. Don't get caught though, California has strict laws on that stuff...

I'd be interested to see what a live minnow would catch out there. :-\
