Fished with my friend Esteban today. We met up at 0630, and idled out into the darkness. As the sun came up, we made a long run to some areas I haven't fished in a very long while. Birds were all over the place feeding on minnows. Problem was, no bass let alone peacocks were feeding.  :(

Water temps were 68 degrees. Only saw a total of 4 nice-sized peacocks and one dead one. Spoke with an armored catfish net boat and there were a lot of dead peas all over the area last week.  :(

Moved around quite a bit until we finally came across some bass willing to play,  but again the bass were from the bass nursery. They were tiny!  lo lo Biggest bass I managed to catch from the area was 1.5lbs.

Made another long run back to an area known for bigger bass, and they were there!! But again, they weren't cooperative.  :'( :'(

We had to get going and wrapped up at 1pm. We managed to boat 9 little bass.  lo

Outing in perspective: The peacocks took a major hit. Areas that were active a few weeks ago, are void of life. The current water temps aren't helping right now either. However,,,, I did see several nice bass. But with this high barometric pressure and full moon, fishing for them has been tough.  The next few weeks should be interesting, let's see how it goes.  ;)

Thank you for reading.

Thanks for the report Lou.  The bad news for the Peas is the coldest weather of the winter season is headed our way this weekend.  Low of 40 and high of 60.  Surprising that the fishing was good tonight in the community hole.

Go GEORGIA!!!!!!!!

The ones in the deep holes will survive, and be better for it.  The strong will live on!

Thanks Lou.  I went out after that big cold front and saw LOTS of dead pea's.  Gonna try to head out after this weekend to see whats going on, but I have a feeling this front is really going to slow the bite down.
