Don't want to drag this story out, but I had a great humminbird customer svc experience. I have a Helix 7 Chirp with gps, and the navigation/gps system disappeared from one day to the next. Meaning, I had a chart plotter/fish finder one day, and the next it was just a fish finder.
I called HB's CS and they walked me through a series of steps over the phone to no avail. Even after a hard reset, my nav system was no where to be found.
My unique situation stumped the CS rep so much that he offered to have my unit repaired free of cost just to learn and see what had happened to my unit. Keep in mind my unit is over the warranty period. They sent me shipping label, I removed the unit from my console and shipped the unit early last week. Fast forward to today, and my unit arrived repaired. I reconnected the unit and viola my navigation icon is back and my gps functioning. I have a free transducer to boot just in case I need to replace the original unit.
Not bad huh?
Great to hear!!
Always good to here!
I'm running Humminbird electronics, and they've always been helpful when I've called about technical questions.
I've heard nothing but good things about HB customer service. ~c~
I've always heard HB had great CS. It's the cornerstone to any business IMO, they all have great up to date products and technology but it's customer service that gets my money. Thanks for letting us know.

lowrance, back when they were in Tulsa USA was same. when they got bought out by the euros... it went to crap in a hurry. no more 'call and talk to a live person' who knew what the heck they were doing.
just one (but a very important reason) why my new boat is running HB. I don't know, but suspect Garmin to be similar...
