Good morning 8)
Being retired now I'm not paying much attention to the calendar. Here we are in Feb already and I just realized it ~b~ :surrender:
Greetings to everyone,
We're still experiencing Wintery conditions across Central Texas today. Although the temperature is getting warmer. Forecasted temps for our area today are 28-37dgrs with 98% humidity and a NE wind @ 9mphs. We have some light rain moving through the area. The roads are clearing as the school districts have open the schools back up. Warmer temps are inbound with tomorrow being forecasted 30-50dgrs, Saturday 40-62dgrs.
:-* It's getting warmer as the weekend arrives and into next week. We're looking at 70(+)dgrs weather starting on Monday ~c~
Not much planned for today. I'm going out and clean the ice off the trucks and fire up the engines and thaw them out. I might go and check the mail at the post office later on after the vehicles get warmed up.
To everyone have a Blessed day hopefully those that's had this Wintery weather will start to thaw out here soon also. Y'all be careful out traveling around if you get out.
First I couldn't believe 22' was gone and now 1/12th of 23' is gone... The older I get the faster this "time" thing starts moving. I make a promise to the kids to go fishing and before I know it's weeks later and I still haven't go them on the water...
I don't know how but Laurie and I are in a temperature bubble. To our west only 25 miles they are getting freezing rain and sleet, and not more than 30 miles to our north and east is the same thing, with limbs falling because of the weight of the ice. Of course where you have falling limbs there are downed power lines. The sleet and continued freezing rain make it hard to get to folks to fix things. For what ever reason, the way this front is traveling we are staying at 32-34 degrees. It's a very slow mover, started on Monday and will blow out tonight, so four days of accumulation for some. The Dobyns Rod factory is basically shut down over in Texas (just above Lake Fork)
I am thankful and praying for those that are without power. Being without power when it's cold and windy gets dangerous quick. I know being above zero isn't cold to some but it's brutal to people that enjoy mid 50's all winter.
Everyone be careful, if we are having this kind of weather it's gonna be nasty on the eastern side....
A bit crisp here this week
I have not been on the Homefront and Carrying On's page much lately as if you miss a couple days it can get you way behind. I hope everyone is well. Been a very warm week here in Central Florida and that has finally pushed water temps back up. Fish are spawning everywhere, and they should hurry as we have a front coming in about noon today and the wind is gonna blow and temps are dropping.
I am going out at daybreak in a few minutes to see if I can take advantage of the prefrontal conditions. I love February in Florida. Have a great day all and get out there.
Another cold rainy day here at the beach. Current temp is 48 with some cold rainy drizzle. Tonight temps are expected to take a big drop down to the upper 20s I sure am getting tired of this winter crap. At least we don't have to shovel anything but do have to scrape some frost from time to time. February is a transition month as a rule so it won't be long until warmer weather returns no matter what the Pennsylvania Rodent says.
Good morning to everyone 8)
Warm weather is moving into our area here in Central Texas ~c~ Forecasted temps for today are 30 - 52dgrs with 91%humidity with a N wind @ 9mphs. The roads are clearing up from the ice that had formed up. Things are returning back to normal for Central Texas. We're forecasted to have 70(+) degree weather starting Sunday and into next week ;)
Got up early this morning to take the wife to her medical lab appointment. Her doctors office is in Salado, TX which is the next town just South of Belton. We got there a little early and they took her right in. Her time in the lab was less than 15minutes. We headed over to Cracker Barrel for breakfast in Harker Heights afterwards. Those pancakes and hot black coffee were delicious :food ;)
I took the back way into Harker Heights so we got to drive across the Long Bridge at the West end of Stillhouse Lake. It sure is sad looking at the low water there. I wouldn't even thing about taking the Stratos out into that area of the lake now. It is dangerously low :(
There's nothing planned for the rest of the day today. Guess I'll just tinker around on the computer and watch tv later on.
Bud; Sounds like you're getting some of that Wintery weather we just had here in Texas. It won't last long hopefully. Here these past couple years we've had weather patterns just like this where its cold, icy with some snow in Feb / March. By mid March > May we'll be having heavy rains with tornados etc. One thing about living here just wait and the weather will change one way or another. The only exception is during the Summer months > It only gets hotter than cooler ~sweat :surrender: ~shade
Larry; Tks for taking the time to stop in for a visit. Tight lines buddy hope your stick them really good. Make sure you take some pictures and share those fish catching tips with us. ~shade
To everyone y'all have a really pleasant day. Hope the aches and pains are being kept in check. I still have y'all in my daily prayers. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Well yesterday was a bust after 4 hours without a nibble I came home. Lol. Prefrontal in Florida is way different than the North.
Going out later this morning post frontal and 20 degrees cooler with blue bird skies and 30 mph winds. What my mind tells me is the worst possible conditions. I cannot get worse than the prefrontal from yesterday. ~shhh
I hope everyone has a great day today. Wet a line.
Good morning to everyone, ;)
We started the morning off with fog but the sun is out and the fog has burned off ~shade Forecasted temps for today are 40 - 59dgrs with 100% humidity with a SE wind @ 7 mphs. Warmer temps are moving into the area starting today and onto the next 10 days. It's good to see the sun finally ~shade
We're heading to the movies here shortly just to be able to get out of the house. The roads have all cleared up and are dry for the most part. We didn't have any ice damage (Trees limbs breakage) in our neighborhood but there are some areas that did. You see the power companies and tree trimmers out busy cleaning and making repairs.
Larry; Some days are like that here on our local lakes also. I know Nolan Lake is like that a lot. When they built that lake on Ft. Hood it was stocked with 100% Florida Largemouths. It don't take much of front to shut the bite off. Better luck on the next trip out.
To everyone have a really pleasant and relaxing day today. Be safe in your travels if your traveling the road ways.
The balloon is now over Myrtle Beach. Went out in the yard to watch for a bit. Also present are some fighter planes that are making large circles around the ballon.
Watched the fighter shoot a missile then a big boom and down came the balloon.

FINALLY! Lucky it didn't go over Mike's neck of the woods. Soo many Duck Boys would be shooting at it.

Afternoon all. Sold my 1436 Tracker and today, I moved the Dakota 1670 over to a buddys house. Think a majority of my fishing will be bank fishing until I find a new house.
Have a great afternoon!

Good morning to all,
We're starting the day off with light ground fog and partly sunny skies. Forecasted temps for today across our area are 45-72dgrs with 98%humidity and a SE wind @ 5mphs.
We're off to church here shortly. There is nothing planned for the rest of the day except relaxing. I went out yesterday and checked on the Stratos and G3 for any damage done from the ice storm. All is good both covers held up and no damage found.
Top; Glad to hear you were able to get your Tracker Boat sold. Good luck with the bank fishing.
Bud; I bet that was a cool thing to see the AF shooting down that balloon. Hope things are well at your house hold.
To everyone have a relaxing day today. Be safe in your travels if you're out and about.
Good morning to all,
We're starting the day off with overcasts skies and forecasted temps of 60 - 74dgrs with 95%humidity and a S wind @ 14mphs. We got some rain in the forecast for the next couple days here also.
Somewhat busy morning today. I had a 8am VA clinic phone appointment first thing. The CPAP clinic called to check on my machine status. They can track feed back remotely now. They told me things are looking positive. My next appointment will be in Sept when they'll order my yearly supplies.
We have our semi-annual termite inspection occurring here this morning at 10am. The tech does a great job. He'll spray our entire property for insects also while here. Last year we had a really bad case of Hornets and Yellow Jackets nest everywhere. Once he's done spraying I have a couple Honey Do's to knock out.
The wife is gone all day today supporting the Youth Fair at the Expo Center. The Central Texas Master Gardener Team Members always support the Youth Fair. There will be something going on all week over there.
Hope everyone is doing well and has those aches and pains under control. Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Good morning to everyone,
We've started the day off with light rain showers and forecasted temps of 46-69dgrs with 98% humidity and a NE wind @ 6mphs. There's forecasted to be a line of thunderstorms moving through the area later on this afternoon.
Nothing exciting occurring here today. I'm off to check the mail at the post office and then back home. I had to order some replacement ink cartridges for my HP printer they came in yesterday afternoon. The office supply stores in our area don't sell them anymore.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day today. Be safe in your travels.
Good morning from Belton, Texas 8)
Its raining and will be most if not all day today. Forecasted temps for our area are 36-58dgrs with 98% humidity with a NE wind @ 9mphs ~rain ~rain
We're off to my VA medical appointment with my primary care doctor. There is nothing planned for today except maybe lunch at Subway after my appointment. The wife will be heading back over to the EXPO Center to help out with the Youth Fair going on. I'll spent the rest of the day on the computer and in the recliner ;)
I hope everyone is doing well and has those aches and pains in check. Y'all have a pleasant day today.
A nice 70 degree sunny day here at the beach. Same is expected for tomorrow with some clouds forming in the afternoon and then rain through the weekend and cooling back down into the 50s and 60s. It is days like this when I want to go play with the boat but I will wait another couple weeks before getting to wound up about the boat. I haven't touched the rods all winter and am looking forward to putting on some new line and then loading the plano boxes back into the boat.
Plans for the rest of the week include a trip to the bowling alley on Thursday afternoon to spend some time working on my game as part of my attempt to come back to the sport. So far so good but I will admit a few sore muscles do crop up from time to time. This bowling thing may be a nice thing to do this summer when it is 100 degrees outside and too hot to go fishing. Sure beats just sitting around the house and hiding from She Who Shall Be Obeyed.

It's been a beautiful day across Central Texas today. Forecasted temps were 42-72dgrs with 34%humidity with a SE wind @ 10mphs. We've had clear skies with lots of sun warming us up today ~sun The weekend ahead is looking bright and sunny as well.
Spent the entire morning at the VA Hospital attending my 2nd Infusion Med's session. It takes 6 - 7 hours to administer the meds through an IV setup. Things went well I have a lab appointment on the 20th of March. Hopefully we'll see the positive effectives of these 2 treatments.
There's nothing planned for the evening except relaxing. I took several cat naps while at my appointment this morning so I'll be staying up late tonight.
Allen; Those are a couple nice looking bass Sam's holding ;)
I hope everyone's day was a pleasant and productive one. I have everyone in my daily prayers still for those with the aches and pains and surgery recovery.
Good afternoon from Belton, Texas :)
We're having partly sunny skies with forecasted temps of 31-50dgrs with 63%humidity and a NE wind @ 17mphs. It's a little on the chilly side with with that NE winds howling down.
Really nothing planned for the day. I got up washed some dishes for the wife while she attended her medical appointment. I rehung some BBQ utensils up in the kitchen cabinet. For some reason according to the wife they're in the way when she flips the light switch. These (4) utensils have been hanging in the same spot for 15 years ~shade Yesterday they became an issue :-\
Bud; How's the bowling coming along? Hope you're form is coming along and there aren't to many aches and pains afterwards. Don't remember you mentioning about playing golf as far as starting a new hobby? You ever played before?
I'm going to spent the rest of the day relaxing now ;) To everyone have a pleasant day. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out on the roadways.

Donald, The bowling took a couple steps backward yesterday. Went to the lanes and on my first shot of the day while making my approach my hip or leg gave way and I fell. I guess is better known as the "FLYING SOUTH CAROLINA LIP STAND". I went ahead and bowled two games but it was a bit painful so I packed it in for that outing. My left hip is a bit sore today but not all that bad. Just lets me know that I need to take things slower and continue trying to get my body in shape. No doubt I will be back on the lanes next week sometime.
My home is located in a former golf country club. The course is now closed and is becoming a housing development. This is pretty common around here. We had over 100 courses at one time and as the investors moved in a bunch of courses have been closed in favor of home development. Very sad indeed. The remaining courses of which there are still many have just too expensive to play. Where once we could do 18 holes with a cart for $25. this cost is now over $100. I am a terrible golfer and I just don't want to pay that kind of money to be miserable for 4-5 hours. I can get all the abuse I need right here at home. I am just gonna stay with the bowling thing for a bit and if I do sell the boat will use some of the money to hire guides and that sort of thing so I can at least get some fishing in from time to time. I see another Florida trip as being quite possible or perhaps a smallmouth trip to Tennessee. I would really like another Vero Trophy Bass Lake outing or maybe even something in South Florida for some Peacock Bass. I would enjoy a trip with BassinLou I think.
Good morning to everyone,
We've started the morning off with Blue Bird Skies ~sun Forecasted temps for our area are 31-55dgrs with 58%humidity and a NE wind @ 13mphs. It's a little on the chilly side with that NE wind howling out there ~shade There's lots of sun in the upcoming week with some temps getting back into the 70dgr range ~c~
There is nothing planned for today except to go and pickup the wife's med's later on today. It's going to be another day of relaxing indoors. Once the weather stabilizes to being warm I'm planning on getting out and finish the mulching project. We have a few more flower beds that need mulch added. I need to go out and fire up the mowers also. I need to take the Troybilt and get the PTO belt replaced. It decided to break back in the Summer. The John Deere has been picking up the slack getting the yard done.
Once that task has been completed the covers are coming off the Stratos and G3. There some things that needs done prior to the Spring trips. I need to replace all of the batteries in both boats. I noticed the oil fill cap on the Yamaha internal fill tank is cracked. Still trying to figure out how that happened. I need to do a good cleaning of the Stratos also. The rod and tackle compartments need to be cleaned out also. If I get real motivated I might wax it also :-\
My (3) lakes I fish near me are in sorry shape depth wise and its dishearten to see them. Belton Lake is 13.89ft below Summer Pool and it gets lower everyday. Stillhouse Lake is 11.84ft below Summer Pool and it's gets lower everyday also. Most of the launch ramps on Belton and Stillhouse are getting harder to launch from due to the low water. All of the floating boat docks are sitting on dry banks for the most part.
Nolan Lake over on Ft. Hood is really low also. From the bank line to the water line it's almost 30ft. This makes the lake right at about 4 -5 ft. below Summer Pool. There is not place to safely launch a boat into that lake (There aren't any ramps on this lake to start with). About the only place to fish on that lake is the main creek channel. The West end of the lake is almost bone dry as are the South Coves. Hopefully this Spring we'll get some rain to fill these lakes backup. We have numerous lakes here in Central and East Texas that are below Summer Pool right now due to drought like conditions.
Bud; Sure sorry to hear about the fall there bowling. Hope your recovery time is quick. I've not played golf in a long time either. I did quiet a bit while living in Alaska. I wasn't very good at it but the guys I played with weren't either. We always had fun while out. I concur it is expensive or can be playing golf. The most expensive part for me was the cart rental.
Again I wish you the best on that decision on selling your Ranger. Guided trips can fill that void if your able to take them a couple times a year. I hope your wife's health situation gets to improving also.
Rodney; My good man hope things are going well for during this recovery period. Stop in and give us an update when you're up to it.
To everyone have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend ahead. Enjoy the family time together and be safe in your travels.
Cool, wet and windy day today and more of the same expected for Sunday. Current temp is 54 but it sure feels a lot colder than that. Wind is out of the NE at about 8-10 mph but will pick up this evening to over 20 gusting to 30. Just an icky day is how it is best described.
Had to go out for a couple items of groceries this morning and don't plan on going out anymore today or tomorrow for the most part. Monday I have to go for routine lab work and the Mrs has Physical Therapy on Monday. My hip and left upper leg is still a bit sore after the fall at the lanes on Thursday. Doctor recommended a hip and thigh brace/wrap to help as I continue to strengthen my body for this bowling stuff. The brace will be here on Monday and I hope it helps. Doctor says all is good and I just need a little support for a while. Hopefully he is right. I have a follow up appointment with him in another week.
I have had a few e mails about the boat. I let it be known on the website for the 300 series ranger boats that I am considering a sale. So far no real interest just some curious folks at this time.
Good afternoon to all,
We're having a beautiful day across Central Texas today. We got Blue Bird Skies with forecasted temps of 40-60dgrs with 67%humidity and a SE wind @ 5mphs. We got some rain in the forecast for Tuesday but Monday, Wednesday > Sunday lots of sun and warm temps 50's - 70's by mid afternoons each day.
We went to church this morning afterwards stopped by and picked up the wife's med's at HEB >Grocery Store <. Lunch is being done at home today. The wife is fixing some oven baked chicken, pork chops, steak fries, coleslaw ;PEP) :food
(https://i.imgur.com/hJCGUDOm.jpg)
She mentioned something about going to the movies later on this afternoon. Other than going to the movies there is nothing else planned for today.
Bud; Hope the brace helps you out with the pain in the hips and thigh. Do you wear a wrist and elbow brace while bowling? I remember my dad and grandpa wearing wrist braces while they bowled. Hope you get the point of enjoying this new hobby without the pain that has come with it so far.
Say you still got that Saltwater Guide trip planned for this Spring? Haven't hear you talk about it that much.
To everyone I hope your Sunday is going well and y'all are enjoying the family time together. Be safe in your travels if you're out and about.
Good morning to everyone,
We're starting the day off with overcast skies and a High Wind Advisory here in Central Texas. Forecasted temps for our area are 56-67dgrs with 77% humidity and a S wind @ 8mphs. There is a wind advisory out for later on today with the winds gusting up to 40mphs.
There's nothing planned for today. The wife is out doing her thing with the hair and nail appointments. I hope everyone had a relaxing and pleasant weekend. Y'all be safe and enjoy the family time together today.
Sunday was a tough day. Started to feel a little poorly on Saturday evening and Sunday I was chilled to be bone and could not get warm. I shivered all day and every joint in my body ached. Wound up going to bed at 8PM and turned on the electric blanket. I woke up at 3 am and felt a lot better but was unable to go back to sleep. Usually I would get up and have some coffee but since I had to go for lab work today I could not do that. I am feeling better and not cold like yesterday but still have some uncomfortable joint pain but nothing like yesterday. I guess I am on the mend from what ever I had.
Tomorrow I have an appointment at the Bowling Pro Shop in the afternoon but in the morning I have to do a pick up at the florist for Valentines Day. We already had some chocolates but they are not gone as we both had a chocolate attack over the past few days LOL. Wife also has a haircut tomorrow so we both will be busy going separate directions.
Donald, I do wear a wrist brace and have since the 1960s. Now that I don't have the strength I used to have it really helps even though I would rather not wear one. I do have a hip/thigh wrap and a knee wrap that I also will need to use for a while as recommended by the doctor. Almost feels like I am suiting up for the roller derby just to go bowling.
Good morning everyone.
Was an "interesting" Duty weekend to say the least. Had a soldier bring two loaded pistols and two boxes of ammo for them to Duty. Kidbis known for being "off" a little as he always carries atleast seven knives, no matter how many times you punish him for it. We stopped him as a courtesy check to make sure he's doing and feeling good, but the LT noticed something sticking in his pocket. We calmly asked him to come to our Office and talk (we also had a runner go fetch the other Leaders from our platoon. We had a shakedown.
*Ten knives
*One taser
*Two pistols
*Two boxes of ammo
*One extra mag for the pistols
*Three fold up batons
*A belt that has a razor edge on it for cutting wood (a chainsaw belt)
*Two brass knuckles (I didn't even know they still made those)
*Two rings that have a fold out razor blade in them
WHY?!....
After a LONG talk with him, swrars he isn't trying to hurt anyone, and he's obviously paranoid over something. (Yeah, he's one of those I saw it on Social Media, so it's 100% true! types) he is on Watch now for 8mo or more. Every time he shows up for Duty, he will be searched out of sight of others. We will then escort him to his car, make sure it is locked up and take his keys. That goes for his locker as well. If he needs anything, we will have to escort him personally.
This is the part I hate about being a leader, it's having to babysit grown adults and treat them like they are little kids.
Enjoy y'all's day

I mean if this is NG he only has to show up without being crazy for those weekends and your field time without being crazy, that shouldn't be a big ask. You may want to consider separation, and if so hopefully you are putting these events on a 4856. In the regular army, this would be immediate UCMJ punishment with possible confinement, and a chapter packet being initiated.

We're Reservists, so we're Federal. Which means we have to be careful in how we approach certain situations. We want the soldier to get the help that they need, but we do not want to completely destroy their life. With National Guard, it's a lot easier to skirt certain things and handle situations without major negative action. Being a federal employee over state, means we have to find other ways to approach something to get the job done while keeping the higher-ups hands out of it. That is the Dilemma. I am finishing out the last couple years of my contract with this reserve unit. I know all too well how bad they would destroy this kid even if he didn't intend to do anything if this was active duty. The number one problem with active duty is that yes programs do exist to get soldiers help that they need, but what people don't know is that higher command will discourage anyone from trying to use those programs, all because it will make the unit look bad. Sometimes, you need to fly under the radar to get soldiers to help they actually need.

Ive been active duty for 15 years and am yet to see anyone discouraging getting Soldiers to the proper programs. But at the end of the day I would hold the Soldier accountable for their actions while getting them help. All in the name of preserving standards and discipline in the unit. Also this doesnt sound like somebody that has the potential to lead others or to be trusted in any position of real responsibility especially deployed. But I also understand from working side by side with AGR/NG etc for the last few years that these organizations are desperate for workers and its almost impossible to get kicked out.

Good morning to everyone,
We had a rain shower move through the area early this morning. The skies are clearing and it looks like its going to be a pretty nice day today. Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 47-74dgrs with 83% humidity with a SE wind @ 10mphs.
The wife is taking me to lunch today for Valentines Day. We're going to check out one of the new restaurants ( Black Bear Diner) that just opened in Harker Heights. The reviews look really good so we're going to stop in and check it out. I have a couple task to complete today while out. The flags at our church are in need of replacement. I'll stop by and change them out after lunch today. Other than this there isn't anything planned for the rest of the day.
Top; Allen; Hope you guys are doing well. Tks for sharing the comments with us. Top hope this guy in the future doesn't do something that the chain of command will be sorry for. I'd sure hate reading something reference this that could have been prevented. Hope your unit can get this guys some help.
Bud; I don't see how you'll be able to move around with those braces and trying to bowl. I've never seen a hip brace etc. before. I hope these help you out while bowling. Have you thought about taking up Skeet & Trap Shooting as a hobby? Are there places there in town that offer this event?
Rodney; My good man sure hope your recovery is going well for ya. I still have ya in my daily prayers.
To everyone I hope y'all have a really pleasant day today.

That it is. (Impossible to get kicked out). I've got almost 13yrs in as of now, hitting the 15 and taking Med Board for "Early Retirement" ("The rules of the game are simple. Learn the tules and play the game better than anyone else." -Albert Einstein)
Basically, I want someone to get the help they need, but not completely ruin their life if that makes sense. When I was deployed, I saw soo many people get denied Mental Health Evals or even a chance to talk to a Chaplain. As the Battalion XO (one I was deployed under) put it, "If too many people use these resources, then they look at us (Unit) like we're a problem and we can't have that." God....I hated that guy and am glad I took my demotion for attacking him.. WORTH IT!

Nice weather day today. highs in the 70s lite winds and more of the same for tomorrow. Wife got a hair cut today as planned and I was able to go to the bowling pro shop and have some work done on both bowling balls. So, all in all we got done what we had planned.
Wife had voice some concerns about selling the boat. She is aware that I am getting a few calls and today she called her physical therapy place and is doubling her therapy efforts. She had recently cut back and now she realzes if she wants to keep fishing she will have to keep working on her health and keep up with the therapy. Good for her, I think she sees what will happen if she can't improve her physical health.
Tomorrow the wife is going to lunch with a friend down to Pawleys Island. I have an errand to walmart and that is about it. Thursday is shaping up to be bowling day once again. Hopefully the new braces will help and also having the balls adjusted should help put me on a good track.
Donald, time to get your boats all ready for action. They have sat around long enough time for some of the Texas fishing if you can find any water deep enough.
Its been feeling a but mild the last few days here. Highs getting into the 40s. About a week ago we seen negative 26. I felt terrible, and the air felt so thick that it made breathing feel almost a bit labored.
We have the house all set with the exception of wood blinds throughout the house that should be done and delivered before the end of the month. Not sure what we will do with this house in 3 years if we have to move again for the Army because its a 5bd 3ba and that may be challenging to rent. I would need 2500 a month atleast. Selling will probly be a good option with the improvements we have made on the house already. New floors, interior paint, fans, light fixtures, appliances with stove and a new big single tub kitchen sink with the drain on one side. Looks really nice. But I would prefer to keep it as a rental and let somebody else pay the mortgage through rent.
The boat, 2023 Lund Predator 2070 with a Merc 150 was orded back in early October. The dealer said it has a status of complete and "loaded" as of 2 weeks ago but still hasnt arrived. I will be deploying again in June or July and want to get some use of it before I go. Hard water should be gone next month. I had them order electronics for the boat so they would be here when it arrives. Minkota Terrova 24v iPilot and a graph for the console, a Lowrance HDS Live 9". They have the deep cycle batteries in stock and it comes with a cranking battery. So should just need an anchor, PFDs and safety gear and a small tool bag.
I am about 100% on restocking all my fishing gear. I have 7 dobyns rods, 3x DX, 1x Champ, 1x Kaden, and 2x Fury. Reels are 2x Chronarch MGL, 2x Curado 151 MGL, 1x Aldebaran 51 MGL, and 2x NASCI spinning reels. I have everything from net, scale, bags, boxes, line, and every major technique worth of lures and terminal tackle built in boxes. The rods reels and tackle set me back about 4k but I built a good baseline.
Work is going good but I still am without a job until after the unit returns from JRTC. The CSM may want me to remain a PSG because we have a high priority mission for one of the batterys. Im excited to be a part of whats coming this summer. And Ill be back just in time for spring next year.
I dont update here much lately so I will add a couple pictures.
Don, That weather sounds great. Hope you can find somewhere deep enough to float soon lol. I didnt know they had black bear diners down there
Bud, if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a a ball; if you can bowl you can boat lol. I assume you are entertaining offers but haven't committed. I booe whatever choice you make is one that will bring you happiness.
Rod, rest up brother.

Sounds fun and nice little collection ypu have started. I take it you're Artillery. I'm an Engineer. (Drunkards with Dynamite

)
The Unit wants me to be a PSG, but NOPE! Did my time overseas, no more for me. I'll keep training the current one until I leave in 21mo. The BDE keeps trying to get me to volunteer for MOB again.

(If they think im re-enlisting, they're gonna be sooo disappointed..

). Both my student loans are paid off, my son has my GI Bill gor trade/tech school, I'm debt free after last deployment and wife and I are about to go buy a house with our inheritance money and my VA Disability. Will pretty much be retired at 45 (age when enlistment ends) once this contract is up.
I've decided that my Engineering day job will just be my "killing time and play money"
My soldier called me last night and asked if I can take him to the VA this weekend so he can talk to a therapist there. It's a start, so I won't say no to him.
Have a great day everyone..

Good evening to all,
We had a pretty nice day across Central Texas today. We started off with ground fog that burned off by 10am. The sun came out and it we had clear skies. By afternoon the high winds showed up bringing a front across the area. Forecasted temps for today were 46 - 72dgrs with 81%humidity with a S wind @ 7mphs. The front is bringing in some rain showers late tonight early tomorrow morning.
Busy day today I worked outside trimming and mowing and cleaning up the yard. It's been a while since the mower was started so I'd figure there would be issues. The John Deere fired right up after checking the oil and putting in some fresh gas. The Left Front tire was flat so I had to remove it and get it fixed. By the time I got back home from getting the tire fixed the ground fog had burned off.
The wife spent the morning working with her Master Gardner friends over at their office. They worked outside cleaning and trimming the surrounding grounds up. She brought some plants home and planted them in one of her flower beds.
All of the planting and yard work was completed by 1pm. We had lunch and got cleaned up. I fell asleep in the recliner after eating lunch. The power nap felt pretty good. I'll be up late tonight now after taking that nap.
Top; Tks again for your service (Drunkards with Dynamite) I've been around a lot of engineers in my 30yrs of being in the Infantry. I've never heard them called that before. I always had a lot of respect for the work they did. Tks for the update on your soldier also. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Allen; That quite the up start you got going on there with your baits and tackle. I'm slowly changing out my BPS Extreme Rods for Dobyns Fury Series Casting Rods. Tks for the update on your house also. It sounds like y'all put a lot of work into it. Best wishes and safe travels in your future deployments. Yes sir that Black Bear Diner opened late last year. This was my first visit and there will be more I assure you of that. There's no hurry to hit the water (There's not much to start with) it's pretty dangerous out there right now with this low water issue.
Bud; Tks for sharing that piece reference your wife's physical therapy. I wish the very best for her as she continues to get well. That's good news and I hope you're able to keep the Ranger for a while longer.
Yes sir we're getting close to pulling the covers off the boats. I got to pull the Stratos out one day this week and get the tires aired up. I noticed today while working on the mower that the driver's side tire was looking a little low. I'm going to work on the G3 first as it will be the boat I'll use the most due to the low water situations.
I need to replace both batteries, my livewell / cooler and reattach the carpet that has come loose in a couple places. I'm thinking about removing the carpet and spraying the interior with that bed liner material. If I do this I'll wait till Summer Time this way I can leave the cover off so it dries good.
To everyone hope your day today was a pleasant one. Y'all have a great day tomorrow. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Good morning to everyone,
Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 30-50dgrs with 54%humidity and a NE wind @19mphs. The rain and high winds came through around midnight and lasted till around 3am. It's pretty chilly out there this morning but it suppose to warm up this afternoon.
The wife is taking me to lunch today at Cotton Patch inside of the Temple Mall. This is one of the nicest restaurants in the mall. She plans on doing some shopping at Dillard's afterwards. I'll just tag along and burn off lunch ~shade There's nothing planned for the rest of the day once we get back home except to relax. I'm getting used to this relaxing thing lo
Once the weather stabilizes I'll be outside working on my boats and getting things ready for the upcoming fishing trips. One of the biggest things that needs to occur prior to these trips is for the lakes to fill back up with water. It's pretty dangerous out there now if you don't pay attention to your surroundings. Launching is a major undertaking at some ramps.
Hope everyone has a pleasant and relaxing day today. Y'all be safe out there.
Temps to 79 today but a stout wind from the W makes it feel a lot cooler. Been feeling a little poorly this week anyway. Sunday I had chills and all my joints and muscles ached. The last few days have been good after taking some pain meds. Today however the chills and aches have returned. I decided to stay home today and forego the bowling planned for today. Maybe tomorrow will be better. On top of all that I seem to also have a bit of intestinal problem that has made the day a bit worse. I don't have a fever or the sniffles just chills and aching joints and muscles including a dull headache. Oh well, hopefully that too shall pass.
Good morning to all,
We're starting the morning off with partly sunny skies and forecasted temps of 27-51dgrs with 51%humidity and a N wind @11mphs. These bright sunny skies fool y'all till you get outside with the N wind blowing. It's a little on the chilly side ~shade
I have a couple errands to tend to this morning but after that its back into the relaxing mode ;)
Bud; Sure hope you get to feeling better.
To everyone I hope your day is a pleasant and enjoyable one.
Afternoon guys.
Autocorrect has been going haywire on ky phone lately and I've been noticing a lot of misspelled words, so I apologize for any terrible replies or posts.
Now, I moved my PolarKraft to a buddys house, until my Dodge R/T sells. Once it sells, I'll move the PK into the garage I rent and start on building my floor. Man, it will be nice to have it stored out of the weather, especially in storm season. Decided on buildi g an aluminum frame for the flooring, coating a sheet of plywood with resin or epoxy and topping it off with some astroturf. Since my son has decided he doesn't want to go fishing as much anymore, I can build me out a front deck w/storage under, along with get me a foot controlled MinnKota for once.
22 months left on my military contract and I'll pretty much be retired, so I will be able to start fully enjoying my weekends again.
Almost finished filing for my VA Disability from OEF & OIR, along with finalizing our inheritance from my father-in-law. So we can usey VA Loan to get an actual house, no more mobile home!
Have a great one everyone.

Good afternoon to everyone,
We've had partly sunny skies across Central Texas today. Our forecasted temps were 30-55dgrs with 42%humidity with a S wind @ 10mphs. We got another front moving into the area later on. This one is bringing in some warmer weather with it. Temps are forecasted to be in the mid 50's for lows and low 80's for the highs ~shade
Somewhat lazy morning at the start. The wife fixed egg sandwiches for breakfast. We made a trip down to Salado, TX this morning to find a school her and her Master Gardner Friends will be working at on Monday morning. Stopped in at Walmart and did a little grocery shopping. The rest of the day has been relaxing for the most part. I watched The Bassmaster's LIVE show from the Big O. I'm going to watch the Weigh in when it comes on also. The rest of the evening will be in the recliner watching tv.
Top; Have fun redoing your boat. That is something I've always enjoy doing > Tinkering with my boats <
I hope everyone has had a pleasant Saturday so far. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
The weather has turned back to s*** the last couple days. More white stuff falling from the sky. Today I started making a new rod/reel wall mount. The wife loves me enough to let me put it in the living room lol. I have the whole house at my disposal but being that Im typically a bit of a reel enthusiast I think they look really nice. Plan is to mount a shotgun under them. The rest of my fishing area will be downstairs near the gym area. Too cold to leave stuff out in the garage thats for sure. In the summer alot of if not all the rods will be in the boat, in the garage. Our new Suburu Outback is on a truck from the factory. Loaded up Onxy edition XT. We ordered it back in November I believe. Its the wifes new car, and her old car a crosstrek is going down to my daughter. We replaced the front brake pads and rotors on that car this morning. I feel guilty that I took the last 2 days off of the gym. Daughter and I went today and got there 3 minutes before it closed so here is a 3rd day off. Trying to get in a lift day before I do Cardio again which I can just do here on the treadmill.
Don, glad to here you are taking it easy.
Top, I bet you are getting excited about hanging up the Patrol Cap soon. Check out tiny boat nation for ideas for that framing and deck.

Good morning to all,
We've started the day off with overcast skies across Central Texas. Forecasted temps for today are 55-69dgrs with 75%humidity and a SE wind @ 6mphs. Our 10 day forecast is looking great with temps in the mid 50's for the lows / 70's > low 80's for the highs.
Nothing exciting happening around here today. I fixed breakfast and attended church on line. I got the laundry done for the week and got the breakfast dishes all washed and put away. The rest of the day is going to be spent on line watching fishing and sitting in the recliner relaxing watching tv later on.
Allen; I hate that white stuff and the cleanup that follows its. Your rod and reel wall mount looks great. After I get my boats cleaned up etc. I'm going to move all my rods and reels back out into the boats. I keep them in the garage hanging up on peg board during the Winter months.

Thats ALOT of combos! My short term goal is about 10 and then Ill probly slowly add to over the years. If only I havent sold gear over the years. Ive had so many high end reels. For example Ive had 3 Aldebarens over the years, 2 of them JDM and never even fished them just always buying and swapping gear. I just let go one of them here on the forum because I switched to lefties. Water is still hard but its like a revelation the way they feel in my smart hand. My biggest regret that I let go was a Steez limited I bought about 10 years ago. That reel is impossible to find for reasonable money now.

Good morning to everyone,
We started the day off with overcast skies. Our forecasted temps for today are 59-81dgrs. with 82%humidity and a SE wind @ 12mphs.
Somewhat busy morning here. We had the HVAC techs come out and do a Spring check of our system. All is good and there weren't any issues found with the system. The wife started cleaning house she got 2 -3 bathrooms cleaned. I knocked the last one out after the HVAC tech left. I don't have anything on my list to get accomplished but I'm sure the wife will find something for me to do ~shade
While out with the tech checking the AC unit I noticed the next door neighbor is having a skylight installed in one of the rooms. I wonder how long that's going to last before it starts leaking? She just had a new roof installed on her house a couple weeks ago.
Allen; I remember when you were buying all those reels. You had a really nice collection going on there. For sure stuff cost a lot more than it did when you were buying those. I hope you're able to get back into that again.
I have rods that I keep in the Stratos and G3 all the time during the fishing season. This way all I got to do is just hook the truck up to the boat and head towards the lake. I have combos I use only when I fish as a co-angler also. This way I don't have to go out into the boats and grab an outfit. Sometime I have people that fish with me that don't have any equipment. I let them use some of my stuff also. I generally keep those rods hanging up in the garage.
To everyone I hope today is a really pleasant and relaxing day for y'all. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Routine Dr. appointment today and all is well except for a weight gain this winter. That is always good to hear, especially when you are an old geezer. After a stop at Home depot and another stop at Lowes foods for some chicken tenders for tonights supper it was home for about 30 minutes when the Mrs returned from her Physical therapy that was cut short today as one of the therapists called in sick. Shortly after the wife's return home Walmart called and I had a prescription ready for pick up so off I went to pick it up and also get some gas in the Expedition. Good price today $2.95.
Next job on my plate is to do the taxes and get that all taken care of. Warming trend here at the Beach with some temps will reach 80 by Thursday. Currently it is 75 and a light breeze with some high cloudiness. The rest of the week is shaping up to be quite nice. Won't be long now until I will be bringing home the Ranger for a clean up and hopefully a run on the river if the weather continues to cooperate.
Donald, what is your forecast for getting some water in your lakes. If it stays dry down there where will you have to go to exercise the Stratos?
Greetings to everyone from Belton, TX ;)
Its the start of a beautiful day across Central Texas. We got Blue Bird skies with forecasted temps of 68-81dgrs. with 86% humidity and a S wind @ 5mphs. We have lots of sun in the up coming forecasts this week ~shade
I got a couple errands to run today. I have an appointment this Saturday for an MRI and I need to go and find this clinic at the hospital. I'm going to take the Stratos and get the tires aired up on the trailer. They're looking a little low from sitting all Winter. The wife is off doing her thing today I'll see her later on this afternoon. I have nothing else planned for today.
Bud; Glad to hear you had a good doctor's appointment. A little weight gain isn't too bad after a long Winter. Our gas prices around here are hanging around the $2.78 dollar range.
There isn't any heavy rain forecasted in the future at all. If the drought conditions etc. continues and the lakes continue to get drawn down the Corps of Engineers will close the lakes to all recreational usage for safety reasons. Both Belton and Stillhouse Lakes provide water to the communities South of our area down towards Austin and the surrounding areas. This has happened before during the previous drought seasons. All I can do is dump some fuel additives in the Stratos and let her sit in the storage area with the cover on it.
Hopefully this Spring and early Summer we'll get some rain. If it doesn't occur then neither boat will get used. Nolan Lake over on Ft. Hood is really low also. The only place to fish on that lake is the main creek channel. All of the flats and coves are dried up or fixing to be. There aren't any launch ramps there so it would be really easy to get stuck trying to launch.
To everyone one I hope your day is a good one. Y'all be safe out there.
Pollen season has started here at the beach This morning the Expedition has a light coat of the yellow stuff. The last few days of spring like weather has the trees starting to bud a bit and the grass is greening up so I guess that is the source of the pollen. The worst pollen comes from the pine trees in our area. Temps today hit 80 and warm weather mostly into the 70s will continue through the week with a chance of rain maybe on Saturday. Feels like it is time to bring the boat home even if it is just to re load the tackle and safety stuff. I also need to maintenance the trailer hubs. Soon I will also change the lower unit fluids. Also planning on giving the carpet a good cleaning. Always a special time in the spring to be able to mess with the boat.
Ordered some replacement drive wheels for the mower and a new mower blade also. Need to stop by lowes and pick up a spark plug and a new air filter and we should be good to go for the mowing season. When the temps stay a little warmer at night will apply some weed and feed to the yard. Each year we get our first 80 degree days in February and this year keeps the tradition alive. This summer when it is 100 degrees and the humidity is sky hi you likely will find me at the bowling alley. At least now I have something to do when it gets really hot.
Southern N.Y. has been balmy by comparison to more northern areas. Last Dec. I was worried my 8' deep pond would dry up due to the long drought that lasted for most of 2022. But the rains began in late Dec. and continued on and off until today with a few days of torrential downpours - so far 2 this week alone! The pond is only 1.5' down from max and hasn't had any ice on it all winter! In fact we haven't had much snow - at least none that didn't melt fast.
Strange but true:
Over 1000 blackbirds were on the both lawns front and back in the morning most likely feeding on grubs coming up through a thawed ground drenched.
Three ducks were swimming in the pond this morning.
Four deer were feeding on the other side of the pond a few days ago in the morning.
A few friends have been catching a few fish from shore locally and no waters in southern NYS have any ice on them. What gives?!
I'm holding off with lure craft for a bit considering how many new lures I've made but not used in the last three months. I keep busy though and will have cataract surgery for both eyes in March. Optimistic I won't need corrective lenses except magnifiers for close up.
Gas has been around $3.25 locally. Hope it comes down though it was $3.70 a month ago so I should be thankful. Eggs are another story! If you weighed a doz. eggs minus shells and figured what it cost per oz and then multiplied it by 16 (oz/lb), you'd get a price far more expensive than fillet mignon. I'm down to 1 egg/ day. oj, coffee and toast. Haven't missed eating two eggs for breakfast at all. Feel for families with 2 or more kids.
Finally some cold weather starting tonight. Just thankful that March is almost here with some warmer days and nights to look forward to along with longer days. Might even launch the boat in late March.

Ive enjoyed your analysis here and on NYBass (about a dead forum at this point) for about 10 years. Hope all is well and appreciate the time you take to do those write ups on lure characteristics and presentations. Good luck on your surgery from Watertown.

It truly warms my 74 y.o. heart to read your kind words. (Not so kind per a few chaps on SDfish.com that disagreed with my posts.)
Fishing is my passion but only as it relates to finding the best lure actions that provoke aggression and then enjoy the fight-for-survival that follows. Are anglers being mean to think like that?
Good morning to everyone,
We started the morning off with rain showers that were moving across Central Texas. We're forecasted to have this occur throughout the day today. Our forecasted temps for our area today are 55 - 80dgrs with 90% humidity and a NE wind @ 10mphs.
Got a little surprise yesterday morning as I was moving the Stratos out to air up the trailer tires. I found a Rat Snake coiled up under the plywood I have the tire parked on. It wasn't very big maybe 10inches long. It looked to be maybe a year old. That breed of snake we find quite often around here. They have the markings of a rattle snake (-) the shape of their head and no rattles. I picked it up with my grippers and moved it to another location. They eat mice and other small animals. They do get up there in size also. I've seen them 3 - 4ft. long here.
There is nothing planned for today as of right now. With it schedule to rain throughout the day there won't be any outdoor activities going on.
Bud; Sounds as if you got a Spring Prep list going on there with some equipment maintenance. I have that occurring also. The Spring Pollen hasn't happened yet here but will once these temperatures start stabilizing.
Hope you're able to bring the Ranger home soon and get it ready for the season. I have my list of maintenance issues to get preformed on both of my boats and outboards also. I'm debating on whether to let the marine techs service the outboards. I don't have any place to dump the used lower unit oil after draining it.
I wish you well on your new hobby there. You're right when it's a 100dgrs outside there's nothing like being indoors with the AC on. You may as well be enjoying that new hobby of bowling.
SenkoSam; Good to see ya on line here this morning. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and sharing the day and providing us an update. I have ya in my daily prayers for the upcoming eye surgery this coming March.
Allen; Tks for stopping by. I hope you have a pleasant day today.
To everyone I hope y'all have a Blessed Day today. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Don, Good to hear from ya. I deleted the content of the last post because I wasn't sure it fit in with your daily posts.
Thanks again
Frank (SS)
A bright sunny 83 degree day today. Been doing some yard readiness stuff today. Got the watering hoses put out at the front and back of the house. I did water the courtyard where I have some rye grass planted. Just trying to keep it going until the real grass gets going. Took some time to wash the Expedition to get rid of some of the pollen although it will be back on the vehicle by tomorrow morning. Oh well at least it looks better for a short time and will have to do it again tomorrow. Unless we get some rain this will be a daily event all through March and into April.
Thursday is grocery day so I have to make my list or I will forget to get some items. The old memory ain't what it used to be.
Today was the Wife's Social Security pay day and that is always a good thing. She also has a pension that comes in on the 1st but it goes directly into her savings. You know how it is there is our money and her money and has always been that way for the past 56 years. The final thing for Thursday afternoon will be to go bowling. I am really enjoying doing this. Since next week is Boat clean up week I may not be visiting the lanes but you never know.
Good morning to all
We're starting the day off with partly sunny skies. Our forecasted temps for across Central Texas are 49-70dgrs with 42%humidity and a N wind @ 19mphs. There's a chance of some rain showers tomorrow ~rain
Nothing is really planned for today. I made a trip over to the VA Hospital to make a payment for some med's I received in the mail early this morning. I'm planning on taking the wife out for dinner later as it's her birthday today. Other than this there's nothing on the schedule except relaxing.
Bud; Sound like a somewhat busy day not to busy though. Hope your day goes well for ya. Enjoy the trip to the bowling alley hope you have a great game.
Rodney; My good man. Hope your recovery is still going as planned. You heading over to Wegman's for your Thursday shopping and that sub sandwich today?
Frank; Your post was ok no issues that I saw with it. Tks for taking the time to stop by.
To everyone I have y'all in my daily prayers. I hope the aches and pains are being kept in check. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Thanks Don, wasn't sure.
As planned today was bowling day. For the first time since my return to this sport I was able to bowl pain free. This is major for me that should allow me now to begin to work on some of the finer points of the game that need a lot of attention. Pretty exciting stuff, I am encouraged that I may actually be able to pull this off. Bowing and Bassin' sounds like a good combination to me.
Greetings to all from Central Texas (Belton)
We're going to have overcasts skies across the area today. There is the forecast of rain on and off throughout the entire day. Our forecasted temps are 44-52dgrs with 62%humidity and a SE wind @ 8mphs.
I have an MRI scheduled in the morning for my Prostate Checkup. The doctors want to have my insides cleaned out for the procedure. I'll be having fun cleaning my system out today....not :( Needless to say I won't be leaving the house today ~shade
Bud; That's great news.....no pain while enjoying your new hobby. Best wishes that it continues and your game improves.
To everyone have a really pleasant day today. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out.
Day started with some partly cloudy skies but still nice and warm. Current temp is 77 with humidity at 70%. Got the house cleaned this morning and then mowed the yard as the clouds are continuing to build off to the west. Rain is in the forecast for overnite and into Saturday but it looks like it could rain at any moment now. Hopefully we get enough rain to wash some of the pollen out of the air for at least a little bit. Yesterday the pollen was so thick that the air looked like it was filled with smoke.
A little later I have to go to the grocery to get a couple items I missed yesterday and I also have to swing by and pay the lot rent for the boat storage. Nothing else planned for the rest of the day but that is always subject to change around here.
Good morning to everyone,
We are having overcast skies across Central Texas today. Forecasted temps are 46 - 63dgrs with 91% humidity with a NE wind @ 7mphs.
Spent yesterday evening prepping for my MRI Prostate exam this morning. I got to the clinic and tech tried 6 times to find a vein to setup an IV. They failed and told me I had to reschedule my MRI. Due to the med's I'm taking I have a lot of swelling etc. I also have deep veins. Not the way I wanted to start my day. I did lose 6lbs from the prepping yesterday and last night ~shade I wouldn't wish that prep process on anyone. Of course if y'all had a colonoscopy before you know what process I'm talking about.
We left the clinic and stopped in Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I was pretty hungry after not having anything to eat since breakfast yesterday. I sent my doctor a email letting him know that the appointment got canceled. When I do lab work now the techs use a vein finder on my arms when they need draw blood.
I have nothing planned for the rest of the day now. The wife is continuing to gather stuff up for a yard sale we're going to have next weekend.
Bud; Glad to hear you had somewhat of pleasant and easy day. Those are good to have every now and then.
To everyone I hope your Saturday is a pleasant and productive one. Be safe traveling if you have to be out and about.
As forecasted by the local weather guessers, it has been a cool and damp day here at the beach. Current temp is 58 with overcast skies. Tomorrow will be a bit improved over today still cool but no rain in the forecast. At least the rain today have washed away some of the pollen although the trees still look a little smokey. Pollen will likely return tomorrow.
Have not done much today but am preparing to do a Meat Loaf tonight for supper. Other than that a rather quiet day.
Good evening!!! cold with a few light flurries, tomorrow we should start getting rid of the ice from that storm. About 4 weeks ago it was so nice I took a long walk, wrong move, as I was coming up the driveway heading to the side door I suddenly found myself looking up at the sky in an awful lot of pain, I think my right leg buckled and took the rest of me with it. the good news, I landed on my right shoulder and hip, the bad news, it hurt so much my wife took me to emergency, 5 hours and x-rays of my shoulder and hip should no broken bones or dislocations, bad news, they close the MRI unit down at 5 every night so no views of the soft tissue. My right shoulder is doing better my hip is getting worse, I'm going to have to see the ortho doc for that.
I've still been busy looking for a new to us vehicle, never been able to afford a new one, I found one. A 2014 Toyota Rav4 LE, that-s the bare bones one, more on that later. The Rav is black with a black interior, has 91,500 miles on it, with all the maintenance done on it, the oil changes were about every 5,000 miles which is what I wanted to see, it runs well and I should be able to get another 150,000 to 300,000 miles out of it. Monday it goes in for a tranny service along with transfer case and differential services, power steering fluid changed and any others that need attention. The factory says 10,000 miles on an oil change and the tranny fluid is lifetime, that gets the vehicle past the warranty period, I want more, the colling system also gets a fluid change, it's coming due anyways.
Now back to bare bones, it has cruise control, remote door locks, and an am fm, radio with cd player, and a backup camera. The camera comes on when you put it in reverse. The tailgate is manual lift on power, I can deal with that no problem. It's all wheel drive with an economy mode. To unlock the doors one push of the button unlocks the drivers door, 2 quick pushes open all the doors and tailgate. It cam with new brakes, and new tires along with new wipers. Because of state law and the fact the dealers can make a good profit of vehicles like this is why the new stuff, it came from a Chevrolet/Subaru dealer, it was traded for a Subaru, fairly popular around here. I'll have a hitch installed later then start looking for a boat, with what's going on with the body I'm not in a rush.
My wife likes it, at 4'10" she struggles just a bit getting in but is able to, the chevy cruz she was falling into it sits so much lower.
Have a great rest of the weekend and bewell!!!
Rodney
Good morning to all,
It's foggy and overcast out side presently. Forecasted temps for across Central Texas are 54-78dgrs with 95%humidity and a SE wind that pretty calm right now. The week ahead is looking sunny and warm with cool mornings and mid 80's during the day. There's a chance of a thunder storm on Wednesday.
We're off to church here shortly. The wife is going to fix pizza for lunch after we get back home. There's nothing planned for the day except relaxing and tinkering on the computer etc.
Rodney; My good man glad you had the opportunity to stop in for an update. Glad to hear nothing serious happened during your fall. Tks for that health update I still have y'all in my daily prayers. That vehicle you're looking at / getting is a real popular vehicle here in Central Texas. There are a lot of them around here. Good luck with the purchase I hope it serves you and your wife well.
Bud; Hope your day today is a quiet one also. That meatloaf sounded good. Hope your Sunday is a pleasant and relaxing one.
To everyone have a pleasant and relaxing day. Be safe in your travels if your out.
Don, that sounds like a nice day!
Rodney, Sorry about your tumble. The new Rav4 sounds like a nice looking and economical vehicle.
We are still getting dumped on here. Ive been doing a bunch of web browsing on going into Canada and just fishing Canadian waters. They seem like a PITA. My wife and I both have enhanced drivers licenses. The last time I lived here, It looks like I wasn't following all of the laws due to my own ignorance. I don't remember having a Canadian fishing license or "Outdoors Card" or ever calling the phone number to report crossing the invisible border in the St Lawrence. Im glad I never got a big fine.
Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

Good afternoon!!! Somewhere near 40, sunny no wind. I just got done ordering up floor mats and a cargo mat from a Toyota dealer in Massachusetts, they look like the same as Weather Tec, for a lot less money and free shipping, less than half the price, I have a hunch it's all left over stock and they want to get rid of it. Not much going on otherwise.
Rodney
Good morning to all,
Bright sunny skies are across Central Texas this morning. Forecasted temps for the area are 48-77dgrs with 18%humidity and a NE wind @ 16mphs. There's lots of sun in the upcoming forecast this week. We do have a thunder storm forecasted on Wednesday though.
Somewhat busy day today. The wife is having a yard sale this weekend. I'm looking at getting some folding tables for her to use. I'll be making up some signage as well. Other than this there is nothing planned for today.
Rodney; I was looking at those Weather Tech Mats and those are nice. Expensive but nice. Hope they work out for ya.
To everyone have a pleasant day today.
Good morning to everyone 8)
We're having Blue Bird Skies all across Central Texas this morning ~sun Forecasted temps for the area are 62-85dgrs with 50% humidity with a W wind @ 3mphs. There's a chance of a thunderstorm moving across our area tomorrow and early Thursday morning. The rest of the 10day forecast has lots of sun and warm temps in it.
Had a couple errands to tend to this morning bright and early. The wife is having a yard sale this weekend. She had 3 boxes of flower vases that she was getting rid of. Flower vases don't sell well at yard sales. I gathered them up and took them to school. I gave them to the teacher that teaches flora design etc.
I stopped by church to coordinate to use some folding tables. Tomorrow morning I'm picking up 7 folding tables for us to use during the garage sale. While I was at school I noticed they have a bunch of pallets stacked up. Tomorrow I'm picking up about 10 of them to use for the Yard Sale Signs I'll be making. I'm going to take 2 pallets and make a sandwich board device out of them. I'm going to staple a butcher chart sheet to each side advertising the yard sale. I have about 5 locations I'm going to set these out on Friday night early Saturday morning.
There's nothing happening here the rest of the day. I'm going to relax cause tomorrow I'm going to be real busy cleaning the garage out so the wife can set up her yard sale stuff inside.
To everyone I hope your day is a safe a pleasant one.
