Title: Lake Balboa success!! 20 Feb 23
Post by: BassmanRudy on February 20, 2023, 06:56:30 PM
After dropping the wifey off at lax hit back up Sepulveda wildlife area and lake Balboa to fish it for the first time. I fished a full circle around the lake as its not that big and caught 1 bass! Decent one at a little over 2lbs and it hit the small Frittside crank. I tried all sorts of other stuff- drop shot shaky head spinners swimbaits and none of it worked. Lake seems extremely shallow at least all that I could reach casting from shore. After talking to some of the 20 or so other anglers out there some Big Bass have been caught before- Up to 9lbs or so! If I catch 5 like this in my tourney Sunday I should win!

I'll be on San Vicente. Currently 80' Low and the rocky clear type lake I was expecting here. Supposedly had a lot of flooded timber too.

Hoping the snow doesn't shut down the 2 roads I need to make it down there!

Thanks Don! Just 2 bass in 4 months or so I'm just happy to get a bite! Would be ecstatic to catch 5 Sunday!

We had some snow flurries this morning already so who knows what the next few days holds.
