Title: Shimano Miravel
Post by: loomisguy on March 11, 2023, 04:18:43 AM
If anyone is in the market for a new spinning reel the Shimano Miravel is outstanding and reasonably priced at $130. My understanding is that it is basically a rebadged CI4 which would have been north of $ 200 when they were available.
I have mine on a NRX 872s and it makes a great pair. Great ned and tube combo.

I purchased a Miravel 2500HD from Bass Pro last week during the spring trade-in and paired it with Dobyns Kayden 714 spinning rod. Combination is very light and used it on Sunday to toss out wacky senkos to shallow bass. Caught bass from 1 to 4 lbs with this set-up and very satisfied. Spooled reel with 15lb braid and used a fluorocarbon leader. ~cf

I bought several Vanfords last year and I love them. That said, if the Miravel had been out then I would have bought four of those instead, because they are an incredible value for what you get.
