Title: My New Mercury
Post by: D.W. Verts on March 16, 2023, 08:18:40 AM
I ordered a new 200 yesterday and the forecasted wait on it will be 54 weeks. FIFTY-FOUR.

Glad I'm not in a hurry?

Things may change- repowers take second-seat to manufacturers, and since boat sales have fell off some (wonder why?) their hogging of new engine production will maybe slacken some.

Still. I might be SIXTY years old before I get my new engine. Hoo boy.

Yeah, the 200+ motors seem to be still be in short supply.  I have a buddy that is still waiting and the date seems to get pushed back...

What, the problem may be computer chips for these engines.  My SIL put an order in for a new Range Rover and they told him he would have to wait until late in 2024 because of computer chip shortages, and production slow downs.  Crazy stuff!

Glad you haven't given up! Your Jon boat ad on FB sounded like you were getting ready to move into assisted living.  lo

You'd think with new boat sales in a slump that would free up some motors :surrender: Guess it doesn't work that way....

Hopefully as the calendar moves time will be shaved off. I know a buddy of mine was given a extreme delivery date on a new Yama Hammer and when it was all said and done it was only about six month... Which still seems crazy to me...

I love it. We've always said "Yama Hammer" too.
