Which Sierra bait cast rod would be your jerk bait rod choice ?
Personal preference is a big factor here. Some guys like myself prefer shorter rods for jerk baits while others prefer longer.
Having said that the Sierra 683C and 684C seem to be a very popular rods for jerkbaits. If you want to go longer the Sierra series has 7 ft. and 7 ft. 3 in. models that will work just fine.
Honestly, for the same money I'd look at the Kaden 610-4 CB rod. It has become my go-to rod for jerkbaits.
(As a bonus it also makes for an excellent rod for topwaters like poppers and prop baits as well as cranks).

Depending on the jerk bait, I would throw them on a 703 or 682. Too bad they don't have a 702 b/c in that line up.
For regular size jerkbaits, 682 casting, 702 spinning. No other choice in my older-dude opinion.

Most people don't know about Gary Dobyns history as a professional tournament angler. I have a good friend who fished against Gary for years. Randy told me Gary beat the crap out of the competition with a rip bait which is the west coast term for jerk bait. So I share that to say this, any model such as the Champion 704CB, 684CB, Kaden 610-4CB would be my starting point. If there's a model that can emulate those, you would be in good shape.

Thank you for the suggestions - I have the 733C and 734C Sierras already and want something shorter with a bonus of being good top water rods as well .
