this thing is heavier than the 16.5lbs the crappy spring loaded fish gripper indicated. my friends 16.5 put on his grocery store scale was 18. but as far as i know, it is bigger than 16.5. but that is all i can claim due to the scale we had at the moment.
but dang..what a fight!! i light lined it with a 2500 spinning reel. it was screaming in protest, but it handled it fine. best shore fishing ever. i was in Oklahoma. casting against the wind with topwaters.
