Hey all -
I just bought a 1992 Ranger 375V and I am PUMPED to get this thing in the water. It was one owner and I'm cleaning her up and testing everything out now.
First, allow me to admit that I am new to bass boats. Every boat I have owned has been a standard fishing boat, but I couldn't pass this one up.
I am working on the live wells and am having an issue with the rear livewell. It is set to 'Fill' and as I dump water into it to clean it, it empties out. The cable seems to have tension going both directions so I do believe it is connected to the valve properly.
Any suggestions?

Congrats on getting your Ranger Bass Boat. Those are an excellent first boat to own. Have fun getting to know the ins & outs of her.
I'm not real familiar with with Ranger Boats. There could be a leak on one of the water hose lines? One of the pumps could be leaking also. Open the back deck lid and see if the area around the pumps and hoses are wet?

A lot of bass boats from the 1990's including many Ranger models used the Flow-Rite live well system.
I'm not sure if this will help but I'll offer it up as a suggestion since I had a very similar problem on my old Tracker that I had upgraded to a Flow-Rite live well system.
If you can get to it, disconnect the valve from the tubing and cables and check the inside of the valve itself. Make sure it fully opens and closes when the lever is moved.
In my case the valve was made of plastic and the inside piece had cracked and then broken away. It was the result of some water sitting in the valve and left to freeze over a cold New England winter.
As I said, not sure it will help but it can't hurt to check IF you can get to the valve in the first place.

You need to know which valve they replaced the original with, assuming the original one was replaced.
You should have empty/fill on your toggle switches, but in my case, Ranger sent me 3 way valves when I ordered replacements a couple of years ago for my 1994 492VS. Now my livewells are Fill=Fill, Empty=recirculate and in between empty and fill is empty. The plumbing also had to be reworked, as there was no recirc option originally.
If you have original valves, then they are bad or blocked, which is why it won't hold water on fill.
