Title: SLX DC 150HG
Post by: Blacknredflake on June 16, 2023, 06:38:33 AM
Just got a SLX DC 150HG at a price I couldnt pass up.  But honestly I dont know which technique I want to use it for lol.   Its 7:2:1.

Thoughts for those that may have one?  Thinking maybe on my DC 765 Flippin stick with Flouro.....

Don't know if I would put a DC on  a flipping stick.  I use them on lighter weight baits that I'm likely to cast into the wind whilst I'm having a senior moment... ~b~

Very solid reel. I'm with FD, the digital control is really meant to be tested with long casts and or windy conditions. It will work great for a flipping or pitching presentation but it's underutilized.

FYI if your pitching a dock and hit a pylon, the Digital Control isn't quite that fast, you'll still get a backlash....

I only have one and love it on a squarebill or topwater popper style bait rod.

Not a terrible idea for light topwater or cranks...

I think you'll find using it with jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and other less than friendly casting baits is the perfect use for this reel. I run the JDM SLX XT DC version and it is amazing for this purpose.
