Got a kid sitter and took Laurie out for a bit. The weather was supposed to be cooler with some cloud cover and a breeze... for once the weather man got it right.
Didn't really help the fishing much though. Very tough for me. There were several guys out there that were prefishing for the up coming tournament so everyone was tight lipped but there were a few fish caught. I guy mentioned he thought he could catch 15 pounds and another said he had two five pounders. Lots of gossip, mostly dock talk...
I caught three fish, two in the two pound range and then one between eight and nine. I didn't weigh her but Laurie got a picture before we let her go...
Everything came pitching soft plastics to trees. With the breeze and clouds I just knew we could get a reaction bite going but not me. I did hear of spinnerbaits, swimbaits, and chatter baits catching some.
Mike congrats on the Louisiana Pig there ~c~ Tks for sharing the trip and that picture with us also.
Glad to hear that Laurie was able to get out and wet a line with ya.
Dang, nice one! Hosston is so hit or miss for me.
It's very hit or miss for me. Seems like they bite yesterday, not today, and again tomorrow. I'm generally in the "not today" spot...
