Good morning to everyone,
:toot: Welcome to November 8) The year is moving right along.
Our forecasted temps for across Central Texas this morning are 35-56dgrs with 50%humidity with a N wind @ 5mphs. Its starting to warm back up a little bit here today. The next 10day forecast has high temps being in the mid 70's and the low's being in the 50's / 60's.
Not a lot going on here today. I have some errands to tend too and a trip to Walmart here sometime today. My appointment with my Kidney Doctor went pretty good yesterday. He's changing my med's again and I'm now schedule for my 2nd round of Infusion Treatment. I have this appointment on Monday morning.
My wife had a big buck run out in front of her this morning :shocking: Luckily she was able to stop and not hit the deer. I'm glad for a lot of reasons. These small vehicles don't tend to do well when hitting large objects :surrender:
I hope everyone has a pleasant day today and a relaxing evening ahead. Y'all be safe in your travels if you're out and about.
Turning cooler today with lows tonight into the mid 30s. Highs only in the upper 50s for the next couple days before returning to the 70s once again. A bit unusual to be this cold so soon. Usually don't see these temps until December around Christmas Time.
Wife had to go for a blood test for her upcoming routine Doctor visit. After that we went for a quick breakfast and then over to Walmart to pick up some cat food. Errands are all done and hopefully the rest of the day will be quiet. I enjoyed having some kids stop by last night for trick or treat but we only got about 10 kids that came. Our development is mostly retired folks and they don't seem to enjoy having the kids stop by.
Got a new parking spot for the Ranger at the storage lot. Recently a huge motor home was parked next to me and that made backing into my spot very tight and totally blind. My new spot is on the end of the row near the driveway and won't have that problem again. The old spot was so tight with the motorhome there that I could barely open my door to get out of the Expedition. No problems like that now.
Good morning to all,
We're starting the day off with Blue Bird Skies and forecasted temps of 46-71dgrs with 84%humidity and a S wind @ 6mphs.
Busy morning here for me. I'm mowing and trimming today beings the rain has stopped and the sun has dried the yard out. :-* I'm fixing to have a big breakfast first; Biscuits, potatoes, sausage, ham, tomato & cheese omelet with some butter and jelly :food ;PEP)
There will be nothing else planned for the day once I'm done with the yard work today. I'm going to shower and find the recliner ;)
Bud; Tks for stopping by and sharing the day with us. Hope the wife test results and doctor's visit goes well for her. Glad to hear that you got a parking spot that makes it easier to pickup and park the Ranger. Do you think you'll make any more trips out his year in the Ranger? How's the bowling coming along?
To everyone I hope your day today is a pleasant one and the evening upcoming a relaxing one. Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about ~shade
Donald, we are planning on going to the river this coming week. Nice weather forecasted and hopefully the tides will have slowed a bit. This recent cold snap is unusual and I suspect plenty of good fishing weather is on the way.
Was looking on bassmaster.com at some of the video of the Redfish tournament being held at Winyah Bay in Georgetown, SC. With the slot limit in SC they had a slow time getting fish to be in the slot. Most were bigger than the slot allows. Here on the coast our salt water fishing is very good.
Yep the new parking spot will be much better. Not quite ideal but a whole lot better and no one can park on one side of me. I sure hated the last spot as it was very tight and you had to back in almost blind.
Weather today is improving after a chilly start at 38 and a bit of frost on the roof tops. Highs today in the mid 60 but the 70s for the next week or so. Some showers possible but it seems not likely.
Good morning!!! Just got home from the gym, 44 headed to upper 50s, sunny and breezy. The snow is gone, wasn't much, maybe an inch. We didn't get any munchkins for the 3rd year, it's what we figured, we bought candy for just in case but mostly for nibbles until Christmas.
Bud, congrats on the new parking spot, it sounds like it's safer for the Ranger besides being easier to get it in and out.
Donald, good to hear you're getting better and better. Good that your wife missed the deer, we have some biguns in the north country, moose, they'll just walk away with a vehicle.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney

Good morning to all,
We're starting the day off with overcast skies and forecasted temps of 55-76dgrs with 90%humidity and a SE wind @ 9mphs.
We're off to attend Mary Hardin Baylor Crusader's last home football game of the season. There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day after the game is over with. I'll come home and check out Saturday's College football games and relax in the ole recliner ;)
Rodney; My good man glad to see ya on line. Tks for stopping by and sharing the day with us. We don't past out candy here for Trick or Treat. Matter of fact I can't remember kids even coming around trick or treating in our neighborhood. We have lots of community business that set up in their parking lots and do Trunk or Treats. Our church does this event every year. It's a safety thing and seems to do well.
When I lived in Alaska there were always vehicles getting totaled by moose incidents. You're right some of those big bulls can just walk away with some of the smaller vehicles. A female Cow with a a calf can do a world of hurt on a vehicle also if provoked.
Hope you and your wife continue to improve from the surgeries. I still have ya in my daily prayers.
To everyone enjoy the weekend and be safe in your travels.
A beautiful day here at the beach. Temps in the mid 70s once again after a bit of a cool start. More of the same for the rest of the week. Had lots of errands to do today and did not get a chance to go pick up the Ranger from the storage lot. Hopefully I will get it tomorrow although the Mrs. has lined up a trimming job for me to to tomorrow.
Bowling has been doing very well recently. I did have a bit of a rough patch for a while but recently I have been on fire and scoring very well. Over the past week I have had back to back 700 series outings. All of a sudden I am on a lot of strikes and not really sure exactly why. I did make some changes in my hand positions during delivery and that may be the thing that got my game on the right path. I have tried to bowl at least twice a week and sometimes three times. I have league play on Friday afternoons and I try to bowl at least two other times during the week. I have also been substituting on a couple of other leagues from time to time.
With the good weather I am more interested in hitting the river and trying to find a few bass to catch at this time. I will do my best to do both fishing and bowling but that sure puts a crunch on available honey do time.
Good evening to all,
Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today were 63-80dgrs with 54%humidity with a S wind @ 16mphs.
Spent the morning 7:30am - 2pm at the hospital receiving my 2nd set of Infusion Treatment. They do an IV drug induced treatment that takes 4-6 hours depending your reaction to the treatment. My treatment went really well there were no reactions which is a good thing. My next treatment (follow up date) is Monday 20 Nov. If all goes well they will speed up the IV induced process.
I'm back home now and kinda tired so I'll be hitting the recliner here shortly watching some tv ;)
Bud; Tks for stopping by and providing an update. Glad to hear the bowling is coming along good for. Best wishes for ya during your League Events. Hope you can find the time and the weather corporates for to get the Ranger wet. A wet Ranger means you're out fishing don't have time for any Honey Do's ;)
To everyone hope your day has been a pleasant one and your evening ahead a relaxing one. Be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.
Donald, you have been at this medical treatment deal for quite a while now. Is this something that will continue long term or is this just part of a cure program.
Another great weather day on tap and I have already completed my honey do for the day by getting the back ditch all trimmed for the season. Today is also trash day and after they make the pick up I am heading to the storage lot to bring the Ranger home. We are planning on a fishing day on Wednesday. Temps today to 80 with the same expected for Wednesday. We will get some weather changes beginning on Saturday and a good possibility of a rainy Sunday if a low develops off the coast. Sometime this week I am wanting to go bowling a couple of times but as of now it looks like Thursday is possible and Friday for sure. I have been on a hot streak lately and need to keep practicing if I want it to continue. Even with dedicated practice sometimes the game goes to hell in a hand basket anyway.
Good morning to all,
Its a beautiful day across Central Texas this morning. Lots of blue skies and bright sun ~sun Our forecasted temps for today are 67-83dgrs with 71%humidity with a SE wind @14mphs.
Kinda busy day here today. The wife fixed breakfast this morning. We had toast, fried eggs, sausage patties with butter and jelly ;PEP) :food
She's gone to her classes for the next couple hours and I'm off to Walmart and the Post Office. Once I get back I'll finish getting the laundry done. I'm going to have to tinker around with the flag pole this morning also. I'm going to attempt to add another section to it. Hopefully I'll get done right. If not then I'm going to order another 1 piece flag pole to be installed.
The OLD flag pole setup is behind the Stratos.

I got the NEW flag pole redesigned and operational. Below is the new flag pole in my front yard.

Bud; Tks for stopping in. These Infusion Treatments I have to take Twice a year until my kidney's stop producing all this excess protein. I take (9) different kinds of meds everyday. Most of the meds are Torsemide for reducing the swelling & Fluid build up in my body; Warfarin for deep vein thrombosis; Potassium Supplements; Cholecalcif a vitamin supplement; Atorvastatin to control my cholesterol and Amlodipine and Lisinopril for blood pressure control.
During my last checkup with my Kidney Doctor he showed me that improvements are being made etc. It's just going to take a long time. I have to do blood test and urine samples monthly. He told me when I first got sick that it was going to be SLOW GO and he wanted to try some different things. I agreed and so far I'm pleased with his suggestions and the outcome.
I hope everyone has a pleasant day today and your evening is a relaxing one.
Good morning to all,
We're starting the day off with overcast cloudy skies across Central Texas. Our forecasted temps for today are 67-83dgrs with 71%humidity with a SE wind @16mphs.
Not a real busy day for me today. I have the HVAC Team coming in and doing a Pre-Winter check of our system. They were here for about an hour and briefed me on their findings. Our system is good to go for the upcoming Winter Months.
I spent sometime tinkering around in the garage after the contractors left. I reorganized a couple fishing rods I had switched out. I'm in the process of switching over to Dobyn's Rods from BPS Extreme Rods. In the future all my BPS Extreme Rods will be used when fishing out of the G3 Boat. All of the Dobyn's Rods will be used while fishing out of the Stratos.
There's nothing else planned for today except relaxing etc. I hope everyone has a really pleasant day and relaxing evening ahead.
Went to the river this morning but as usual I got skunked. Temps at launch were 55 and the current temp now is 80 with blue bird skies and a calm breeze. The electronics were no help today and in reality did not mark many fish at all even in some of my favorite spots. At least it was good to get out on the river and as always the Ranger ran great with no problems noted. Tides were very light and we fished the outgoing tide today but it was only running about 1.5 to 2.0 feet and the water temp was 69, The boat is going back to storage either this afternoon or sometime tomorrow. I am not bowling until Friday so I do have some time that will likely be used for house cleaning. Mrs. Bud has here routine check up tomorrow with the Doctor and after that we are planning on a late breakfast somewhere.
Good afternoon to everyone,
Its' raining and forecasted to be for the next couple days. This is one of those slow steady type of rain ~rain Our forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 51-70dgrs with 84%humidity with a NE wind @ 8mphs.
Not a whole lot going on here today. I went over to Clem's BBQ and had breakfast. Those pancakes, with bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese was pretty good this morning. The black coffee, orange juice made it all that much better ;PEP) :food
Came home and tinkered around in the garage for a bit. I took inventory of my rods and dug out an empty Plano tackle box for those Weedless Spoon lures I bought a few weeks ago. There's nothing else planned for the rest of the day. Guess I'll tinker around on the computer and move over to the recliner here shortly.
Bud; Glad you were able to get the Ranger Wet. Has the Fish and Wildlife department ever done a "Fish Count" in the river there by your place. Seems to me reading your trip reports the fishing isn't all that productive. Your descriptions of the area and having watched a couple of your video the area looks fishy ~shade
Hope your wife's medical appointment went well for her.
To everyone have a pleasant and productive day. Be safe in your travels and I hope your evening ahead is a relaxing one.
Donald, yes multiple fish counts have taken place. The best areas for fish are down south near Georgetown with some spots south of Sandy Island. The other better spots are just above Conway, Sc. That leaves us here in the middle with not so good fishing. Tournament fishing is limited in our area with most folks making the long run towards Georgetown. Even then winning bags under 10 lbs in common. The largest bass I have ever seen reported here is just a bit over 5 pounds.
This section of the river took a real beating after Hurricane Florence with some significant fish kills reported due to some coal ash ponds flooding and running into the river. We do catch some bass but not a lot and most are around 1 pound or so but they do look healthy. If you get a big hook up here is most likely will be a cat fish or a mud fish. The big truth is that I just am so spoiled from fishing Santee all those years and my trips to the Cooper River with Terry G. At least at those locations you just may catch a big un or perhaps have a good numbers day. Unfortunately those locations are 100 miles away from my home.
Some bass stocking is taking place but like always the locations are down by Georgetown and up near Conway. Down around Pawleys Island it used to be good fishing but unfortunately the Otters have taken a toll on the fish population.
Greetings to everyone,
Its still raining across Central Texas this morning ~rain This rain is one of those Slow Steady Drizzling Types of rain. Great for the gardens, flower beds and yards that need watering ~shade Our forecasted temps for across the area today are 53-58dgrs with 80%humidity with a N wind @ 14mphs. It's a little on the chilly side with that North wind and light rain.
Just finished enjoying (2) toasted sausage, egg & cheese sandwiches and a diet mountain dew for breakfast ;PEP) :food I think we're off to the movies here later on this morning. The wife mentioned something like that last night. Other than that there is nothing planned for the day.
Bud; I know how you feel reference having the opportunity to fish a place like Santee Cooper and then fish your local waters. I took a guided trip to Lake Fork and had a blast. Catching Slot Fish that weight 3-8lbs and having to release them WOW. Then come back home and fish my local waters...what a let down. When I first moved here to Belton back in 2002 and started fishing Belton Lake you could catch 100 bass a day. The bass would all be 10in > 13.3/4 inches long. Bass here have to be 14inches long to keep. Once in a while you'll catch a decent fish a couple lbs. Fast forward a couple three years and the fish all grew up and there were some really decent bags being caught.
Belton Lake, Stillhouse Lake were hot and lots of bass were being caught. The droughts came and fishing changed again. We still were catching quality fish but the spawns were almost not there due to the low water etc. Fish catching became hard due to the fish getting smart ;) Here we are again with the drought going on. I drove across the West end of Stillhouse Lake last week. It's terrible looking out across there. The only place there's water is in the channel itself. Every place I've caught fish from is nothing but dry ground with overgrown bushes, small trees and weeds now.
The Corp of Engineers are still pumping water from Belton and Stillhouse to the communities down South of us. Belton Lake is still at 15.15ft below Summer Pool; Stillhouse Lake is at 16.80ft below Summer Pool. It's going to take some serious hard rains out in the western part of the state to get these (2) lakes back up to Summer Pool.
Some of the Best Lakes in Texas are in the Eastern Part of the State. Of course there's the (2) border lakes down by Mexico that have big bass. Most of the lakes that do well are managed by Texas Parks & Wildlife Department are several hours drive from my house. Belton and Stillhouse Lakes are not managed like the lakes in the Eastern Part of the state. I'm not all that much into traveling now days. Hopefully we'll get the local lakes back up to normal pool and the fishing will return to somewhat normal.
Good morning to everyone,
We have cloudy skies with forecasted temps of 53-63dgrs with 63%humidity with a NE wind @ 9mphs over Central Texas this morning. There's additional chances of rain showers moving into the area Sunday and continuing into Monday also.
Not real busy but there are some errands to take care of today. The wife is wanting to go to the PX over on Ft. Cavasos (Ft. Hood). She mentioned something about stopping in the EXPO Center today also. There's an outdoor display bazaar going on. And of course a stop at Walmart.
Y'all have a pleasant weekend ahead and be safe in your travels if you have to be out.
Rainy and cool today with temps staying at about 50 all day with more of the same forecasted for Sunday. No errands needed today so just staying inside and messing with the computer for a while. Just finished making a German Chocolate Cake with Coconut/pecan icing. Should be a good nosh for a bit later on. I also have just started a pot of Chili that will be our evening meal today. Just sounds good on this cool day.
Bowling yesterday went well except it appears that I have done something to my right knee. It stiffened up last night and is still a bit sore today. Hopefully it will be alright in a couple of days so I can get back on the lanes as soon as possible. I have been bowling really well and that for me is the best time for more time on the lanes. League play is on Friday but would like to get a few more games in before then. Weather is suppossed to improve during the coming week and I need to shape and trim a couple of trees in the backyard. Not a big job just a light trim.
Good morning to all,
It's another cloudy overcast day across Central Texas this morning. Our forecasted temps for today are 54-62dgrs with 59%humidity with a N wind @ 7mphs. There's rain in the forecast for later on tonight and into tomorrow.
Today is a slack day there is nothing planned for today at all. I'll be attending church on line this morning here shortly. After that I'll be in the relaxation and recliner mode watching tv after I finish tinkering around on the computer.
Bud; Hope the knee gets to feeling better before the league events start up. Hope you and the wife have a relaxing day today.
To everyone enjoy the weekend whets left of it. Be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.
Greetings to all,
Over cast skies with forecasted temps of 49-65dgrs with 52%humidity with a NE wind @ 9mphs.
Somewhat busy morning here for me. I had my breakfast meal of oatmeal with blueberries and bananas with chopped nuts and a splash of honey pour across the top of everything a very simple breakfast :food
Made a trip over to the post office to mail a package to Dwayne up in Anchorage, AK. He texted me with a picture they had 3ft of snow fall overnight :surrender: I told him I didn't miss dealing with that White Stuff at all. Dropped the Diesel off a the Dodge Dealership due to the engine check light coming on. They ran a quick check and there were a number of codes / things that cause the light to come on. They'll be keeping it for a while this week to figure out what the darn issue is.
We finished up the errand running around by stopping at Walmart to do some grocery shopping. We pickup a turkey breast and couple turkey legs for our Thanksgiving Meal. She got us a pecan pie, sweet potatoes and some other items to make the dressing. It's just me and the wife for this holiday so she's not fixing a lot.
Guess what happens when you put a box of eggs on top of the porch banister and walk up the steps :-\ The box tips over and you have a heck of a mess to clean up after the wife quits yelling a ya :surrender: ~b~ Of course me not watching what I was doing I carried the box of busted eggs through the laundry room, living room and had a mess trailing behind me... Yep more being yelled at ~b~ :(
After getting the busted egg mess cleaned up it was time to get on the computer. Our dentist we use has switched insurance companies starting in Jan 2024. I had to make some phone calls got put on hold for seems like forever. I went to the website logged in and spent 30minutes trying to cancel my old dental policy and start a new one. After another 30minutes of waiting and playing around on the website I finally got things canceled and new policy opened ~shade
The wife fixed tacos for supper tonight and they were delicious :food So we're all done with all the errands and having supper it's time for the recliner and tv mode to kick in.
I hope everyone had a pleasant day today and hopefully your evening will be a relaxing one. Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Good morning to all,
Blue Bird Skies are covering down across Central Texas this morning ~sun Our forecasted temps are 49-67dgrs with 57%humidity with a NE wind @ 7mphs.
Made my monthly visit with Team Vampire (Lab Work) this morning at the V.A. Hospital. While there I enjoyed the biscuits with gravy, hash browns and bacon breakfast :food ;PEP) I made a quick stop by the Dodge Dealership on the way home. I left the garage door opener in the cab of the truck. That's not something I shouldn't have left in there yesterday ~b~
There is nothing planned for the rest of the day here. I hope everyone has a pleasant day and relaxing evening once they get home tonight.
Donald, we have about the same weather here today. Been staying close to home for a while due to a wee bit of Chili revenge. Feeling better now but my belly isn't so sure if you know what I mean, LOL Was out in the garage a while a go putting my Worx Nitro trimmer attachment on the extention pole so I can do the trimming on the trees in the back yard. I love this 40V system and how versatile it is. The best part is that it has two 20V 4amp batteries and this thing performs quite well almost like having a gas powered motor. I use it for all the heavy duty trimming as well as the chain saw attachment so I can trim the palm trees. The palms have gotten so big that even on a step ladder I needed something to extend my reach. It is kinda heavy when all together but it sure works good. The batteries last a long time also and each battery has a led light system so I can see how much charge is left in them.
Good morning!!! 30 headed to near 60, partly cloudy, we have a couple of days of decent weather before it's back to cold and wet. The boat may hit the water tomorrow afternoon for a bit of perch fishing, depends on my buddy can get out. Just finished breakfast and am waiting for the time to hit the gym.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Good afternoon to all,
We're having another beautiful day across Central Texas today. We have Blue Bird Skies with lots of sun and forecasted temps of 49-71dgrs with 52%humidity with a NE wind @ 7mphs.
Busy morning for me after having a big breakfast of fried eggs, tater tots, biscuits, sausage with orange juice and cup of coffee :food ;PEP) After getting the breakfast dishes and kitchen cleaned up I jumped on the John Deere riding mower and went to work. I was done with the mowing and cleaning by 10am. It sure is a lot easier when there's no trimming involved. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing and watching some tv.
The Dodge Dealership called with the results from the Check Engine Light issue....$1700.00 dollars = worth of parts and labor. They'll have it done hopefully by Friday. I really hope my daughter changes her mine about keeping this truck. I'll personally will never own a diesel after taking care of this one for her. Maintenance upkeep is a PITA in my opinion.
Bud; Hope you're feeling better today. I have heard those Worx Nitro trimmer are the ticket. I need to upgrade my stuff with one of those. I still have the manual pole extension saws and chain saw that I currently use for my tree trimming operations. My wife and I thought about getting a couple palm trees and plant them a few years ago. I'm glad we didn't due to the maintenance up keep on them when they get older. Some of the newer housing developing areas have palm trees planned in them. They look really good until you have to start trimming them. Those 40Volts systems are the way to go now also. A lot of the school district maintenance contact teams have switched over to the 40V tool systems.
Rodney; My good man and ole gym rat glad to see you on line. Tks for dropping in and sharing the day with us. I hope the weather holds out for ya so you can get that boat wet. Tight lines on your next trip out.
To everyone I hope your day is a pleasant one. Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.
Good morning to everyone,
Dreary day here weather wise across Central Texas. Overcast and light rainy skies are moving across the area. Our forecasted temps for today are 55-69dgrs with 73%humidity with an E wind @ 4mphs.
:toot: It's going to be a fun filled and exciting day of house cleaning and doing the laundry ~sweat Its whets on the schedule for today once breakfast has been eaten ~shade I'll be relaxing and watching tv after I get done working and taking a shower ;)
I hope everyone has a pleasant day and relaxing evening ahead.
Good morning to everyone
We have mostly sunny skies across Central Texas this morning. The forecasted temp for today is 57-77dgrs with 84%humidity with a S wind @ 9mphs. The weekend ahead is looking sunny and comfortable.
It's a slack day here, there is nothing planned except taking the wife out to lunch later on. I hope everyone has a really pleasant day today.
Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Mostly cloudy but warm start to the day. Current temp is 75 and a calm breeze. Bowling league this afternoon and then I have to stop by Walmart to pick up some prescriptions. I haven't bowled this week like I usually do thanks to a bit of a strained right knee. Sprain happened last week but all seems well but still putting a knee brace in my bowling bag just in case. I usually like to bowl 2 or 3 times a week but not so this past week. Have no idea what to expect today, the only thing I can do is the best I can. Hopefully the knee does not give out.
We are going out for Thanksgiving dinner this year so no need to buy a bunch of stuff at the grocery for a special meal. No family visiting so just us two old folks planning a quiet holiday.
Good morning to everyone,
Partly sunny skies are covering down across Central Texas this morning. It's going to be a really pleasant day today. Our forecasted temps are 53-69dgrs with 81%humidity with a N wind @ 8 mphs.
We're off to Fredericksburg for a day trip. While there we're attending a Cher Tribute Band concert at the Rock Box Theater. The wife is going to be doing a little shopping while there also.
Bud; Hope you had a good outing yesterday bowling. Hope your knee gets to feeling better also. The wife and I are having a very simple and quiet Thanksgiving meal here also.
I hope everyone has a relaxing and pleasant Saturday. Enjoy the family time together and be safe in your travels.
Ultra nice day today here at the beach. Current temp is 78 with bright sunny skies and a light breeze. Limping around a bit today as I seemed to have re injured my knee yesterday while bowling. Nothing bad but a little bit gimpy at this time. I still have no idea how it happened. All I know is it just happened. Not much pain just a little discomfort but I can tell you it really messed up my bowling yesterday. I can blame my poor bowling on a bad knee. Fact is I could not do anything right. Hope it will be better the next time. League play is cancelled for this next Friday due to the holiday weekend so I do have a little more time to rehab the knee.
Good afternoon to everyone,
We have overcast skies with scattered rain showers / possible thunderstorms moving across the area today. Our forecasted temps are 65-68dgrs with 72%humidity with a SE wind @ 14mphs.
Not much happening here today at all. I attended church on-line this morning. Made a run to HEB Grocery store to pick up some items for the wife.
Our trip to Fredericksburg was pleasant. We had supper at our favorite Mexican Restaurant 'Mamacita'. The Cher Tribute Band show was ok we got home around 9pm. I think we're going to start spending the night there when we attend those late afternoon shows. I was getting tired driving in the dark and it's a 2.5hr drive down there.
Bud; Sorry to hear the bowling didn't go as planned. I hope you have a quick recovery from the injury.
It's a gloomy day here for sure so I'll be tinkering around on the computer and watching some football on the tv. I hope everyone has a pleasant and relaxing Sunday.
Good afternoon to all,
Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today were 48-78dgrs with 41%humidity with a NE wind @ 16mphs.
We started the morning off with light drizzle and overcast skies. By lunch time the skies were clearing and the sun shining.
I spent the morning at the VA Hospital attending my 2nd IV Infusion Treatment. This was the 2nd session of 2 sessions I was programed for. The first one was 6months ago. My treatment plan I was put on has been working slowly. With my doctors monitoring me on a monthly basis things are looking positive so far me with my kidney issues.
There nothing but relaxation planned for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow morning after my wife returns from her Pilates classes I'll go and pickup the diesel. The service rep texted me letting me know its ready.
I hope everyone had a pleasant day today and that your evening will be a relaxing one. Be safe in your travels.
Good morning!!! 29 headed to mid/upper 30s, cloudy, possible showers lat afternoon and evening. Our Church organist, a student from Sweden at the Eastman School of Music, gets around on a bike. Someone stole it. I offered him mine, I don't use it and haven't in several years. While I was cleaning it up, oiling the cables and airing up the tires, I popped my back, I'm down and out with muscle spasms. Such be life. My wife and I are celebrating our 53 anniversary. It'll be a quiet day. We'll order dinner out and eat here. My wife is off today, she'll be working to be ready for Thanksgiving. It'll be us and 2 of our kids, there is a kitchen full of apple pies, burp.
Hope everybody has a great Thanksgiving!!!

Greetings to everyone,
Overcast and a little on the chilly side here today. We got a cold front moving across the area here and we're getting another taste of Winter. Forecasted temps for today are 38-58dgrs with 46%humidity with a NE wind @ 21mphs. We're looking at mid 30's for the lows and low 60's for the highs the rest of this week.
Busy morning with lots of errands to take care of. I had some early morning shopping at Walmart for the wife while she attended her class. Stopped by the post office and picked up the mail. On the way home I stopped by Jack and Jill's Donut shop for a breakfast sandwich. The wife got home she dropped off a the Dodge dealership to pickup the diesel. I stopped by Kentucky Fried Chicken and got us Supper for later on ;)
The Check Engine Light Repairs came to $1634.39 dollars. They cleaned the oxygen sensors and completed regen; Replaced Crankcase filter and breather for crankcase; Diesel EGR and Cooler service and replaced the KD25 EGR SRV Kit. Total cost for labor alone was $640.45 dollars.
I stopped by O'Reily's Auto Parts Store and picked up some much need floor mats and a set of those covers you put over the door windows. I'm fixing to head out to the garage here shortly and vacuum the truck out and get those new items installed. The rest of the evening will be spent relaxing and watching college football on TV.
Rodney; Sorry to hear that the back is giving ya trouble. Hope you get to feeling better soon. That was might nice of ya to give your bike to the student. Congrats to your wife and you on the 53yr wedding anniversary. My wife is in the kitchen now preparing some of the food items we're having for our Thanksgiving. It's going to be just me and her and a small meal. Nice and Quiet with very little mess to deal with afterwards.
To everyone y'all be safe in your travels. I hope your day and evening ahead will be a pleasant and relaxing one.
Hope all of you and your families are doing well. One more month to go and I get my boat back. The Environmental Department rented it out from me for a job somewhere in GA. Apparently, they love how stable it is with 3 people and equipment compared to the old jon boat they had.

Been a while since I've thrown a cast with work being busy and with my military contract coming to an end in 13 more duties. Going to be weird being "retired" at 45yrs old. But, I'm still going to keep working at my Engineering job for another 10yrs, just to pass time. Well, that and I actually love my job.

Dinner is almost done and gotta run. But I wish all of you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.

Good morning to all,
Beautiful bright sunny day here in Central Texas this morning ~sun Our forecasted temps are 40-62dgrs with 31%humidity and with a N wind @ 10mphs.
I had a VA Medical Lab appointment with Team Vampire this morning. I had to turn in a urine sample and give up 3 tubes of blood. I have a 24hr urine sample to do tomorrow and return on Friday morning. I stopped in and had breakfast at the hospital cafeteria while there. The biscuits and gravy, potatoes, and fried eggs hit the spot this morning :food ;PEP)
Made a stop a Academy Sports Store on the way home. I broke my sun glasses so I decided to stop in and look around a little bit. There's lots of stuff on sale I was checking out the Dobyn's Maverick Rods. Those are some nice looking rods for the price.
There's nothing else planned for the rest of the day here. I'm going to just tinker around on the computer and crash in the recliner later on this afternoon. The wife is out getting her hair done. She will finish up fixing our Thanksgiving meal when she get back home. It's going to be real simple beings its just the two of us this year.
Top; Tks for stopping by and sharing the day with us. Nothing wrong with being retired at 45yrs old. I could've done that but I wasn't ready to retire then. You and your family have a very pleasant Thanksgiving.
To everyone be safe in your travels here this coming Thanksgiving Holiday. Enjoy the family time together.
Warm start to the day and a lot of rain giving way to a nice sunny day about an hour ago. Temp this morning was 70 (it was warm all night) and will drop off a bit this afternoon then a bit of a cool down for Thanksgiving. Went to Walmart to pick up a prescription for the wife and a couple other grocery items while I was there. Nothing else planned for the rest of the day except icing down the knee for a little bit before I put the brace back on for the rest of the day. Leg felt better yesterday but a little more painful today. Must be the weather I guess. I want to go bowling on Friday but it may not happen. If I do go the brace will have to stay on.
Rodney good to see you stopped by the other day. You are one fragile old dude to pop your back messing with a bicycle. You will really have to be careful when you start to rig your boat. If not you will wind up missing another fishing season. At our age you don't want to miss too many more.
Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone,
We're starting the day off with cloudy skies and forecasted temps of 41-56dgrs. We have 53%humidity with a S wind @ 7mphs. There's no rain in the next 7 days forecast.
Nothing planned for today except enjoying the Thanksgiving Meal my wife has prepared. We'll spend the day together just relaxing.
Bud; I hope the knee gets to feeling better and you're able to get out on Friday and enjoy the day.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone be safe in your travels and enjoy the family time together.
Good morning to all,
We have Blue Bird Skies covering down across the area this morning. Forecasted temps today are 41-63dgrs with 75%humidity with a SE wind @ 3mphs.
Not real busy today I turned in my 24 hour urine sample to the VA Hospital Lab this morning. I had my biscuits, gravy, potatoes and fried eggs with bacon while there also ;PEP) :food We're off to the movies here shortly. We're going to see the movie Napoleon.
I went out and checked on the boats yesterday afternoon. The boat cover on the Stratos is trashed. With the sun beating down on it and the wind it ripped right down the seam. So sometime here this weekend after Black Friday calms down I'll go shopping for a new boat cover.
I hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving Day yesterday. Y'all continue to enjoy the family time together and be safe while out traveling during this weekend.
Good morning to everyone,
We have partly sunny skies covering down across Central Texas this morning. Forecasted temps for today are 48-59dgrs with 66%humidity with an E wind @ 7mphs.
Nothing really planned for today we're going over to Buckee's Travel Store. We're looking for a couple Texas Hoodies to send the grandkids for Christmas. We might take a trip up to Waco afterwards this has yet to be determined though.
I hope everyone is still enjoying the Thanksgiving Holidays with the families. Y'all be safe in your travels over the weekend.
Good morning to all
Blue Bird Skies and a 17mph NE wind is making it feel like Winter again down here in Central Texas :surrender: Our forecasted temps for today are 35-52dgrs with 43%humidity with a NE wind @ 17mphs.
Not a real busy day planned here. I attended church via on-line this morning. We're off to do some shopping at Sam's Club this afternoon. We'll be having lunch there after the shopping is over with. I really like their pizzas they fix there :food ;PEP) ~shade
I stopped by Academy to pickup a new boat cover and engine cover for the Stratos Friday. They were completely sold out of both. Beings it rained here yesterday and the cover is damaged I'm going to pull it off and let the carpet dry out now. Hopefully Academy will get a restock in this week on the covers.
Y'all have a pleasant and relaxing day and evening ahead. Again be safe in your return travels back home.
Greetings to everyone 8)
Great Fall weather is upon us across Central Texas this morning. Partly sunny skies with forecasted temps of 36-53dgrs with 54%humidity with a NE wind @ 7mphs. Lots of sun but a little on the chilly side ~sun ;)
There is nothing planned for today here as of yet. I stopped in Academy Sports down in Killeen yesterday afternoon checking for boat & engine covers. They too were sold out of the size I need to cover the Stratos and the Yamaha 150 VMax engine. Hopefully the local stores will be restocked here shortly. I'm going on line later and see if the stores in Waco might have one. IF they do they I'd make a Day Trip up there and get it.
All of the left over Thanksgiving food is now gone. Whew it was great, my wife did amazing job once again in fixing that meal ;) I finished the last of it yesterday afternoon while watching football :foot :food ;PEP)
I hope everyone had a great time visiting with family and friends during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Hopefully your day today will be a pleasant and relaxing one. If you're out traveling be mindful of your surroundings and be safe.
Good afternoon to all,
Another beautiful day across Central Texas. Lots of sun with forecasted temps of 38-61dgrs with 35%humidity with a SE wind @ 6mphs ~sun
Busy and an early morning start to the day. I had a medical appointment at the VA Hospital with my Kidney Doctor this morning. The wife and I got to the hospital early and enjoyed breakfast there. This was the first time my wife has eaten at the cafeteria there. We had biscuits, gravy, hash browns, fried eggs and bacon :food ;PEP) We killed a little time by shopping in the PX store they have in the hospital before my appointment.
:toot: My appointment went really well...There has been improvement in all areas that the doctor has been monitoring. My next appointment with him will be at the end of Feb 24. If the improvements continue he will start cutting back some of my medication which will be a good thing. Progress has been slow but improvements are being seen which we all want to occur ~shade
I made a stop in Walmart and they just happened to have a boat cover that would fit my Stratos ~c~ If the weather holds up and stays warm I'm going to take the Stratos to the car wash and wash it tomorrow. I was kinda shocked when I pulled the old damaged cover off yesterday. The entire boat is really dirty. Of course its been covered since last Aug due to me being sick and the weather situation. When Spring gets here I'm going to take it somewhere and have a real good cleaning and detailing done on it.
There's nothing planned for the rest of the day here. I'm really tired from having to get up at 5:30am this morning. I'm fixing to fall into the recliner and take a mid afternoon nap.
I hope everyone has / is having a pleasant day and y'all have plans for a relaxing evening ahead. Be safe in your travels and be mindful of your surroundings.
Cold start to the day with temps at 39 and a light north wind. Sunny the rest of the day with temps reaching the mid 50s but tonight dropping down to below freezing with a forecast of 29. Got the tender plants inside to spend the night.
Just a few errands today and then stopped by Burger King for o Whopper. It has been a long long time since I had a whopper and I must say it hit the spot. We both are still full from the burger and are going to have a large salad for supper tonight.
The only thing to do now is to stay warm and maybe watch a little TV. No bowling this week until Friday. Knee appears to be doing well with no pain but I still plan on wearing a brace on Friday just to keep me from twisting my knee. Hopefully everything will be ok and not cause any additional problems. I need to make ammends for my super poor bowling a couple weeks ago. It was really embarrassing. Amazing how such a small knee injury can mess things up.
Good morning to all,
We begin the day with overcast skies with the possible chance of some rain later on today. Our forecasted temps for today are 43-62dgrs with 66%humidity with a S wind @ 5mphs.
Not anything pressing going on today. I thought about taking the Stratos to the car wash and washing it off. But with the possibility of rain in the forecast I'll just hold off on it. Guess I just tinker around on the computer and hang out here at home.
Bud; Tks for stopping in and sharing the day. I hope the knee gets to feeling better.
To everyone I hope your day is a pleasant and safe one.
Good morning!!! 35 headed to 40s, partly sunny, rain coming in tomorrow. We got a bit of snow, maybe 2 inches on the ground. The driveway, being on the ground, was warmer, so it cleared itself. Altmar, in the Tug Hill Plateau, got the most in the state, a couple of feet. The folks who could get their boats to the Salmon River were out trout and salmon fishing. There were a few wading also.
My back is starting to get worse, I'm only the bike at the gym. My pain med Doctor changed offices, I have to my records over to the new office. I was supposed, the new office was supposed to mail the paperwork to me to authorize giving my records to the new office. I've been waiting for a week and a half, I'm going to have to call them today if I don't get them. According to the Hippa laws I can't get them and drop drop them off at the new office. My back is slowly getting worse, I'll change Doctors if I don't get them soon.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Good morning to all,
It's been raining most of the night and is forecasted to continue all day today. This is one of those slow steady drizzling types of rain ~rain Our forecasted temps for today are 48-70dgrs with 96%humidity with a SE wind @ 9mphs.
Today is the Bell County Master Gardeners Annual Christmas Party. We'll be attending this event today beings my wife is a Master Gardner. They always have a great gathering at this event. They will present awards to the Master Gardeners that have earned them from this years hard work. The food and entertainment is catered in and has been pretty good these past few years.
There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day after this event. Rest and relaxation will be in order after eating all that food etc. ;)
Rodney; My good man sure sorry to hear that your back is giving you trouble. I got you added to my daily prayers buddy. Hope your doctors can get things squared away for ya soon.
To everyone hope your day is a pleasant one as well as the evening ahead. Be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.
Another month is about to end meaning the Christmas holidays are soon to be upon us. As per usual the wife and myself don't do presents for each other. We tend to get what we want or need through the year and keep Christmas as it is intended.
A bright sunny start to today but now the clouds are rolling in with a forecast of rain for the next three days or so. Most rain is forecasted for Saturday but each day will have some rain to deal with. This will be the third straight weekend with rain. Along with the rain will be some warmer temps with highs near 70 on Saturday.
Just a quick errand today to go pay the Real Estate taxes for the year. Our taxes here are reasonable compared to what I hear about around the country. This is our highest tax bill in the past 30 years for a grand amount of $567.00. I wish our Insurance was just as affordable. It seems all the insurance policies are going up yet again another 20% or so. Since we live in a hurricane zone our house insurance is significant but what else are you gonna do. Most insurance companies will not take new policies here and many just outright cancel policies as part of their risk management assessment. In our area if you live east of the Intracoastal Waterway your insurance bill will be high.
I am ready for bowling tomorrow afternoon. The knee is feeling much better and I sure hope it stays that way but I am still gonna wear a brace just in case.
