After about a year of use I decided to review the Tackle Warehouse Sling Pack. The sling pack sells for around $37 but I got it on sale for around $25 or so.
I wanted a smallish backpack that I could comfortably wear while bank fishing It didn't need to carry a ton of stuff but still a good bit of tackle.
The pack is small and very comfortable with a padded back and padded strap that can be adjusted for tightness. The pack can be comfortably carried on your back, then spun around to your chest for accessing tackle. It's nice that due to the design, all compartment openings are faced upwards after you spin the pack around to your chest. There's no need to take the pack off to access tackle because everything is very accessible. There are 2 carry straps, one on the side and one on the top which makes back and forth from the vehicle easy.
The main compartment could easily hold 2 3600 size boxes (not included) with a little room to spare for a few bags of soft plastics or small items. The smaller front compartment worked perfect for me for carrying bags of soft plastics and a small scale with still plenty of room to spare. An interior zippered compartment is perfect for terminal tackle. I've often stored several small bags of soft plastics in there too.
On the outside is a tool holder for pliers or scissors, a small webbed compartment for a water bottle, and a small zippered compartment that's probably big enough to store a pair of sunglasses. I use it to store scissors and small items.
Likes: super comfortable, holds lots of stuff, easy access to all compartments. I barely noticed that I was wearing it while bank fishing.
Dislikes: I don't have many. Maybe offer it with an adjustable strap that can be moved to either the left or right side of the pack so that it could be more fitting to both left or right hand users. Not a deal breaker for me but might be for some. Secondly, the tool holder is starting to stretch out so I'm afraid that I might lose my good pair of pliers. I put a cheap old pair of pliers in that spot just in case.
Overall impression I love it for bank fishing. It can carry a bunch of stuff and I barely know that I'm wearing it. I'd buy it again and highly recommend the sling pack, but I'd probably wait until it goes on sale. Tackle Warehouse branded gear usually goes on sale, so it can be had at a much lower price.

That's a great write up! This is exactly what I need for the small amount of bank fishing that I do. I want to be able to hold some big swim baits/glide baits and a few plastics as well. Much appreciated!

Interesting wright up, although not for fishing, I was looking at a sling/fanny pack for EDC carry since, as I'm getting older, I don't seem to have enough pockets anymore.

For bank fishing consider: Walmart's Ozark Trail Soft-Sided 350 Fishing Tackle Bag with 3 Tackle Boxes, Orange & Black. I use this set-up for a minimalist approach to bass fishing. 15 dollars.

Sorry I'm late to reply. Not sure, something that will hold a full sized pistol, or a 4 inch barreled revolver, and a couple of mags or speed loaders. And some room for a pair of glasses in a case, and maybe throw my phone in it to boot. I want one that will carry anything that I usually carry, and then some extra fire power when I feel there is a need for it. I'm not a purse kind of guy, but there are times I sure could use one. LOL

they make specific slings for pistols. not sure I would want to unzip a bag to access a handgun. my brother had one for his service full sized. seemed huge, but he seemed to like it.
