Hey guys, I stumbled across this really good video laying out the thousand islands fishery. The Army brought me to this area, now for the second time in my career. I am close to retirement, having a few years left of active duty time and we own a home in the area. Staying once I retire is on the plate, with the other current idea being the smokey/blue ridge mountains areas. Right now its dumping snow back at home and the family is holding down the homestead while I am here in Syria. I fish this area out of my 20' mod v lund and I am nervous at times. The river isn't usually that big of water as lake ontario and its bays, but the boat traffic near clayton can get pretty sketchy with the wakes. I had only a 14 G3 last time I was stationed in the area and used to brave some of the bays and big river when I was younger and dumber. Have a good one everyone!

Nice video D3. The bays that become the river and the islands that make up the area, probably, one of if not the best fishing areas in the country year in, year out. Musky, pike, smallmouth, largemouth, perch, walleye and panfish, not to mention the trout and salmon in the lake are all there for the taking. All the wakes are just part of the environment as well weather, storms that pop-up can make getting out in a boat interesting.

Battle Buddy, tks for sharing the video with us. Fishing that area is on my Bucket List. I've had friends that were stationed at Drum and fished the area a lot. They all had great things to say about it ~shade
You take care I still have ya in my daily prayers ;)
