Title: well i bought a Garmin Echomap UHD 73sv.
Post by: Hobious on May 14, 2024, 10:31:04 AM
i found one, and just bought it.  i dont want to pay the premium $ for the new UHD2 version.  sadly, i think  BassPro found a box they lost because they now have some EVEN CHEAPER!!  wah!

whatever.

install on a Hobie is interesting.  they are set up for plug and play of Lowrance units.  the tranducers are made to fit a hobie.  Garmin, not so much.  i got it to work awesome.    now, i am waiting for a Ram Ball part to enable to use my old mount on the new screen/unit.  and i bought a new battery with more amp-hours.

gah, i hope it powers up!!  i feel like i did Crossfit.  but nope..i was bending and contorting to get a wires installed.  hahaha.

I switched from Lowrance to Garmin a couple years ago and absolutely love them. Their customer service is amazing and the products are the best I've used.

maiden voyage was a hoot.  not the best time to try to figure how to get out of DEMO MODE but I got it done.  image is sick.

I was in current trying to get out of Demo Mode like a dork.  hahah..

heads and shoulders upgrade from my Lowrance low end model.  intuitive buttons as well.  AND I am one step closer to PanOptix...shhhhhhhhhsshhhhh..dont tell my wife.

Panoptix will blow you away... but then you'll want a bigger screen... it's a vicious cycle  :surrender:
