Title: Pascagoula River 6/21/24
Post by: fishingram24 on June 21, 2024, 09:27:35 PM
Launched today from Paige Bayou at 1 pm with my buddy John hoping that the falling tide would have sucks some of the water out but it was covering about half the parking lot still, all due to coastal flood warning that we have been under all week caused by SE winds from tropical storm Alberto that went into Mexico. Ran south where I have been catching a few redfish recently and John hooks into a good one right off, weighing 8-1 once he finally got him close enough to net. I caught 2 17" redfish, 18" minimum, a small speckled trout and a sheepshead before we ran back up river. We ended the day catching 6 keeper sized bass on plastics before put the boat on the trailer about 6:30. Partly cloudy skies, air temps low 90's, water temp 83-87, visibility 1-2'and river stage at Merrill is 3.9' and although the tides fell about 18" it was still well into the grass. Still a fun afternoon especially when you can catch a few.
