Title: My Suzuki's fist issue.
Post by: topdsm0138 on August 18, 2024, 02:15:23 PM
*FIRST, not fist. (Autocorrect got me..)

Went out this past weeknd and my 2021 Susuki 25hp gave me it's very first issue after three years of reliable service, the high pressure fuel pump died. If I pump the primer bulb tiggt, it will start, but then die after 3 seconds unless I keep pressurizing the primer bulb to keep fuel flowing. Oh well, time to get it's first warranty repair.

Suzuki makes some great stuff. In the old days we called them SUCKzuki. I'd own one in a heartbeat.

They're taking my motor in tomorrow for repairs. Keeping fingers crossed on low cost. (I honestly don't mind paying the 50 dollar diagnostic fee or the 47 bucks for a new water impeller.)

Fuel pumps fail. Not really the brands fault as they all use the same stuff. Hopefully it's a no hassle warranty claim for you.

Just picked it up today. They replaced the fuel pump under warranty and I had them do the 1yr service for only 147 bucks. Their shop has been good to me since I've owned the boat & motor, so I dont mind giving them a service job while they're at it.

That's awesome. Boat maintenance can be crazy expensive. Most start at 200 an hour so you've got a great one.

Glad to hear that your fuel pump issue has been fixed.  Finding a good marine tech is hard and like Mike stated their hourly rates aren't cheap.  Our techs around here start out $110.00 an hour.
