My brother lives in Northern Arkansas. They received a couple inches of ice and a couple inches of snow on top of that.
Last night he took his hyper active lab out for a walk and fell. I don't have the whole story on what happened. He failed to return in a timely manner, so his wife went outside to see what's up and when she asked him what's taking so long, she could see he hit his head pretty hard and he didn't recognize her or where he was.
Off to the ER and then ICU. They were planning surgery this morning to relieve pressure, but his wits are coming back to him and the surgeon say's that's a great sign and they are going to wait and monitor.
I've always said he was the hardest head in the family and I reckon he's proved it now...
Should be all good but never hurts to get the power of prayer going!!!!

Damn. Only one who could bring him down was himself, it will be the same one bringing him back up. Prayer sent my man.
Wayne continues to improved. Still argumentative which is really normal but the doc's need him to stay in bed and heal. All signs are pointing to a solid recovery. He's remembering the rest of the family. Has control of his limbs, taste, smell, and all the other little tests.
He's going to spend a couple more days in the hospital for sure but things are definitely looking better.

Thanks everyone. As I've seen so many times, the UB prayer chain pulls through again. He got to go home last night. They had to get PT in and show him how to use a walker as his legs are still having trouble doing what he wants but he is walking. Arms fingers toes all good. Brain is working other than talking to legs properly. Surgeon says the swelling is under control, he is taking no medications. Just a matter of going slow and relearning a few things.
I had no idea what all a brain bleed and swell could do. Some of it very scary. He got lucky. Doc says he's got a hard head... heck I could have told the doc that...
Not completely out of the woods but things are as good as they can be and he's on the road to recovery.

Just an update. My brother reached out to my dad yesterday and they got to talk for a few minutes. Dad says he's talking a little slow and it seams like he's thinking before he speaks, something he never did before LOL but dad felt like he is doing great over all.
Still a slow go but each day is better than the last ~c~

Yep, can confirm, it's big bonk effect. It will get progressively better and disappear within a few weeks, been there :)
It's hard to describe it but it feels like your brain is wrapped in something that slows you down, weird feeling. He may also forget occasionally forget stuff, don't mind it.
Brother ended up in the ICU again. Blood pressure got high so they went to the ER and they admitted him. Lasted over night and he was back home.
Things are going pretty good right now. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.

Did they admit him for fear of brain bleeding due to his recent head injury?

I've been so busy I haven't been on the forums in a while. Sorry to hear about all of that, Mike. Definitely will be praying for the whole family. I hope they figure out what's going on with his blood pressure and he has a speedy recovery from his fall.
