~cf Hobius, aka Cliff, drove over and we headed up to Lake Oroville yesterday. We had a beautitul day on the lake with a cold start followed by nice sunshine and calm water. Up to a week or so ago the spotted bass had been on a pretty decent winter bite. But I think a solid week of cold night time temperatures in the 30s have dropped the surface temperatures 4-5 degrees into the 47-48 dergree range. With that and high pressure and slick water the bass were not too enthusiastic about our offerings. I think we had about 7 bites and only landed 4 of 5 with a couple more releasing themselves on the way to the boat. Even with quality rods and braid to flourocarbon line, we never felt a single bite, just a little weight or pressure. Despite the lack of fishing success we had an enjoyable day getting to know one another. We shared fishing stories and life adventures. Thanks for making the trip over. I'll look forward to the next time.

Thank you for sharing this outing. Any time UB members meet up and fish together for the first time is special. I have been very fortunate to have met up and fished with several UB members. It's always been a fun experience.
what a good time!! I am still boring my wife with the details. hahahaha
Pat and Cliff glad you guys were able to hook up. Nothing beats sharing the boat with a fellow club angler. Glad yawl had a great outing.
Late to the post but it's always great to hear about folks getting to fish together...
Next time we're out visiting Lauries folks (doesn't happen often) I'll need to get with you Pat!!! We've got a lot of old times to catch up on... I'd love one of those trips out in the bay :-*
