I have been viewing the ultimate bass board for several years. I was stationed at Barksdale from 98 - 02 and was following when you were just getting off the ground. Mike & Laurie you have been doing an outstanding job with the board, keep up the good work! I Can't wait to get back to Shreveport/Bossier area. I sure miss my Bass fishing :'(

Yellow Puma welcome to the BB and what part of Alaska are you in? I'm a member of the NAFC and we have a member who lives in North Pole Alaska. Well back to the topic at hand ;) Rich since you have been folling the UB for a long time I know that you already feel at :)hsh: so all I can say is come back and visit when ya can and I can just think you will be glad to get back down south again.
Thanks for the big welcome everyone! I am currently stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska. I plan on moving back to bossier/Shreveport in about 18 months or so. The wife and I have started looking at houses (on line) and plan on buying in the next 9 months or so. ~c~ I had good friends from Barksdale come up and do some fishing in June and they had a blast. I had them so tiered from fishing. In the five days or so of fishing they caught 40lb kings, Red salmon and Halibut (the biggest was a 100lbs) until there arms fell off. I f they had a little more time I guarantee I could have put them on some big Rainbow trout. This is a beautiful place to come in the summer, In August you can load up on Rainbow trout from 20 - 30 inches long. I tried to post a few pictures but I guess the file was to big. Thanks again!

Yellow Puma, I feel like I should know who you are I have been here at Barksdale since 97. What Squadron where you in?
I have heard a lot about the fishing up there and have always wanted to try it. Maybe one day the A.F. will force me up there. The cold winters is what scares me away lo It is still 80 degrees here and mid 60's at night. I worked for a Lt. that got stationed up there named Martello. He is real big into fishing even though he wasn't much good at it lo Just wondering if you know him or could look him up for me I have lost contact and need to harass him a bit. Drop Mother Nature a PM and she can fill you in on the size restictions. Did you try and post them on the forum or in the Photo Gallery?
Mike,
I was there and fished with the Louisiana Military Anglers (Pretty good fishermen at the time but I guess a lot of them have moved on to other clubs) I had a 373V Ranger for the first year then I bought my Basscat Jaguar It was kind of blue/green (jade?) with a black lightning bolt and boot. I am sure you had to see it around as well as I am sure I've seen you. Man I loved my CAT!!
Rich
I started off with a red and white skeeter but have run a black and white Cobra for the last 6 years. I can remember a boat like you discribed. A couple years ago there were not that many Catz around.
I got talking about my boat and I forgot to answer everything you asked. I was in EMS, and I tried to post the pics in the photo gallery, I will see if I can track down the Lt. for you. I hope I didn't forget anything else lo

Hey Yellow....... My 6 yr old and I just read a children's book about Alaska... called "Hannah's Alaska". oh it was great. It was so great that it made me want to move there. I see the salmon in your avatar. You will surely miss fishing those when you move back south. I got turned on to my first salmon just this fall!
