Well I just landed back home from spending a day at the FastCat plant in Florida

WOW WOW WOW  :roll2: ~roflmao is all I can say!

I was told as we pulled away from the dock forget everythin you know about boat handling and was that ever true. This thing responds to every move you make. Its just like driving a hot rod go cart. It turns on a dime and gives you change back. To say I was impressed is a understatement. We did not get to go into any rough water, but we did cross some other boat wakes and you could barley feel them.

Ya'll be on the lookout in Toledo Bend Country for a BIG CAT in the future!

man, I am soooooooo jealous! I want one! well the good thing is that I'll have one sooner or later (probably sooner). Where are ya located on Toledo bend? I used to fish there when I was stationed at Fort Polk, and I loved that lake. I might just make a trip there before the year is over.maybe I'll see ya out on the water.

I'm in the mid-county area around Beaumont, TX and I'm also interested in the Fastcat. I fish Rayburn and Toledo on a regular basis. If you end up getting a cat, please keep me posted. I'd love the opportunity to look it over in person.

as anyone on here tested a SCB?  How prevalent are the fast cats on the freshwater side?  I know the fastcats are fast same with a Simmons.  My partner and I hit 102.3 with a motor that was not running 100% last year.  All I can say is that cats are the way to go with respect to speed, efficiency, and stability.  They will bury a conventional layout.  I fish the saltwater tours in redfish tournaments and I run a shallow water cat, called a Tran Cat.  Not a go fast but a 57 m/hr boat with a 200 vmax.  Plenty fast for a boat that will float in 7" loaded and get up in less than what it floats in with a soft bottom and will run on plane through 3" of water...  The simmons etc.. will do a great job though.  We found them to get up in 12-16" depending on bottom and load and run through 8-9" and still outrun everything on the water.  My partner, Trey Ganem, is the equivalent of Mike on the saltwater side.

how do cats do fishing over stumps?  hung less, more, easy to get off....

i also want one for bass/red/trout fishing. i think that they would make a good duel purpose boat.

I fish quite a bit in stumpfields.  I didn't notice where they got hung up any more often than a conventional hull and for the most part, were better than a regular bassboat as the cat hull didn't draft as much water.

There was only one time I did get hung up and that was when I managed to get two stumps spaced just perfect with one in the tunnel and one between the motor and the transom.

Even then, raising the jackplate and the motor, plus using all 101 pounds of thrust from the 36 volt trolling motor got me off the stumps in short order.
