Title: Bank Fishing on Hugo Lake 8/12/06
Post by: topcat on August 12, 2006, 03:55:10 PM
Well I have not been going fishing to much because of the heat and I don't have no boat I woke up this morning and about 10:30 I decided to go try the bank fishing for and hour///I arrived at the lake at 11:15 and got my Spinnerbait rod out of the truck and decided to fish behind the marina on the west side of the lake...I was throwing a 1/4 oz charteruse spinner bait with two Colorado blades attached.......the shad were bursting the water and the bass was under them in 4to 5 ft of water....

My second cast I caught a 1 1/2 lb bass I was casting to Buck brush and letting it fall just below the shad in about 4 to 5 ft of water........I caught 6 bass and 1 striped bass in about a hour...they all would have gone about 1 1/2 to 2 lbs each....did hook a big bass but he came off about 5 ft from the bank....by the time I lost the biggest bass I was wet all over...decided to call it a day....man was it hot on the lake......

Water was stained
water temp 84
lure Spinnerbait charteruse 1/4 oz double Colorado blades
fish were caught in 4-5 ft of water around Buck brush
