Title: Anybody paint their own crankbaits??
Post by: OHRiverRat on September 19, 2006, 08:54:00 PM
A buddy of mine just got an airbrush kit for model cars and I wanted to try to paint my own cranks but I cant find any blanks. I just wondered if anyone painted their own and if so, where they got them. any help is appreciated.

Lunker_Chaser, just dig through your tackle and your buddies tackle, get some beat up baits and go at it. If your using water based paints and you don't like the finished paintjob just wipe it off and start over.  The bait pictured is one of my own done with water based paint and an epoxy top-coat.
Good luck with your painting.

Thanx for the info guys. I may have tracked some blanks down. I tried to work on some old ones that I found in my box and one thing is for sure...I've got a long way to go.
Whittler...those are some fine lookin baits you got there. Maybe mine will look like those eventually
