Barney,

That black and chartuse grub is a great color for dirty-bird.  Try it on a pink 1/4 oz jig head as well.  I've caught a lot of sandies on it.  I was told the saugeye love it too.  I heard a guy at Academy say it's time to head to thunderbird to load the freezer for winter, looks like your on your way.

First time out to Dirtybird this season.  Buddy w/ boat had side job so I was land locked.

Time Fished: 1300 - 1700
Air Temps: 66-70 degrees
Pressure: 27.14 in.
Partly Cloudy with plenty of sun poking through.
Water was all over the place.  We found murky, muddy, stained and even a little clear water.  Stuck to the North side around fisherman's point and the pump house.

I got skunked.  I think I used everything in my speed bag.  Saw approx. 15 other anglers in the same area and they were all pulling in nothing.  Talked to the guys at Denver's Corner and they suggested the river for some Sand Bass.  They also said that the Crappie were spawning early this year.
