Has anyone here fished Juniper Lake? It says it's 665 acres. Is that big enough for a tournament?
I have fished there once and haven't been back. It has a lot of stumps and they do hold tournaments there
The 16th holds tournaments there every year. Some good fish but most of the lake is stumps - big time stumps. You'll spend a lot of time rocking your boat off of them.
I'm just trying to think of some nearby places to take my father-in-law when he gets in next Friday. We have the tournament on the 9th at Frank Jackson.
Juniper has some good fish, you just got to be carefull with the stumps. Working a worm or jig in deeper water around the stumps should produce some good fish.
I fished it once this year.. I believe with Bob and a Rattl Trap worked for me ~cf
yea dont even consider firing up the gas motor. there are more stumps than you can shake a stick at.
Ya, Scott siad don't even lower your motor. I'll just be sure my trolling motor is fully juiced.
I forgot to ask, what about crappie? Are there a lot and if so, what's a good lure for crappie. I want to put some fish meat in my freezer? Is there a size limit on crappie here in Florida?
Not sure about the size limit, you'll need to look it up but there are crappie in Juniper and Jackson - Opp. Beatle spins work good for them.
