Title: Woodson Lake fishing report
Post by: aaronis on April 16, 2007, 05:10:44 PM
Just got great news from Kansas Dept. of Wildlife.  This like is finally coming back up from being 12ft low!  Still about 5ft low, but recovering nicely.  This is a great lake for largemouth bass.  This lake is located about and hour and a half east of Wichita, KS in Woodson county.  Also known as Fegan lake by oldtimers.

Good to finally hear it.  From what I had heard it was as low as 15 ft I thought they were saying earlier in the year.  Really got some nice rains in the area the last 10 days or so.  First time I've seen ponds and lakes full in probably 18 months.  Woodson has been known to have some decent smallmouth as well.   ~shade

I went and fished Fegan last weekened.  Fishing was slow.  caught a few in the early morining hours, but that was it.  I'm sure if Kansas would get some decent weather the fishing just might pick up.

From what I've been hearing Woodson is tough right now.  Havent been there in a couple of years but used to catch some decent smallmouth out of there.  Hope it picks back up.
