Title: buzz bait with trailer
Post by: AJ on October 12, 2007, 10:37:30 PM
At the garage sale I cleaned house on several weeks ago there was a box of spinner and buzz baits.  Several of the buzzbaits had crankbaits on them as a trailer.... Anyone else used this setup?? He swore by them but a couple buddies of mine say BS on them.   I do know that they do look pretty wicked.  I did get good at just barely pulling it in like a spinnerbait just under water then   bring is on plane and let fall to just under again....

what about a rattle trap instead would it work as a trailer????

have never used trailers  so i dont know what cooth and not cooth

so on the hook of the buzz bait there is a crank bait? i have never heard of or seen such a thing. can you post a picture of it? this almost sounds as if it could be effective in a sense. you would need to use a shallow running crank bait for it to work right maybe 8-10" behind it. otherwise the bait would pull the buzz bait down and it would be hard to keep it on top. would like to see a picture of what you got. doug

Interesting. I can see it with some sort of leader, but attached right to the hook? Who knows, but you know what they say, whatever works.

NOT THE BEST PICS BUT HERE THEY ARE AND IT WAS A RATTLE TRAP, GUESS HAD A BRAIN FART WHEN I SAID CRANK. NOTICE ONE IS MISSING FRONT HOOK, HAVE LOST 2 LIKE THAT.   IF YOU SLOW YOUR RETREIVE DOWN YOU CAN KEEP JUST UNDER SURFACE AND LOOKS LIKE A SPINNERBAIT.  WHAT YOU THINK???

i've never even seen anything like that and i've no idea how that may work but i think the concept is facinating ho shi, however i have tried something simular with soft plastic swimbaits which i'm still testing at this time but with a rat l trap i dunno all i can say is try it out let me know how it goes i'd be interested in hearing what you report on weither it worked or not and if so how it preformed might work with a floating rat l trap or other type floating bait is my honest guess.

well for bank fishing i use a hummnbird rf25 it clips right on the rod i use it pretty much not to find the fish but to look at the structure and cover since its not that grteatly detailed as a sonor finder in lets say a boat but it has helped in walking the bank.

Has anyone ever fished them. I would think the way the trap is on there is would ruin the action
