Title: Lake Mozingo
Post by: Dean Machine on May 05, 2008, 09:56:27 AM
Fished Lake Mozingo over the weekend.   ;PEP) Water temps 56-59 3-4 feet of visibility. Fished the obstacle course cove.  There was alot of top water fish feeding activity. Think they were schooling crappies.  Every once in a while I would see a larger fish swirl that to me, would indicate a bass. Oddly enough Zara spook action was very productive. On the south side of the cover there are several small coves/ spawning flats.  I would throw the black and chrome on the points to the small coves and the bass were smashing it.  Biggest bass was 3.3 pounds, smallest was less than a pound. Fished weedlines inside the coves and wasn't very productive keeper wise. Several smaller fish though. Found a plethora of beds but nothing was on them  Winds were minimal and by minimal I mean less than 20 mph and had blue bird skies.  One question for everyone. I always thought if the fished moved off the beds, they would be scattered on the first initial drop off nearest the spawning flat. Will the fish now hold tight to the cover and become less catchable because of the blue bird skies?  ~b~
