Title: Soft Plastic Mold
Post by: stony on June 06, 2005, 03:49:00 PM
I came up with an awesome idea for a soft plastic lure and would like to make it myself.  Where would be a good place to purchase a mold and all the materials needed in order for me to make it at home?

Thank you.

Not trying to be a jerk, but I don't want to say right now.  I told my main fishing buddy, my wife, and my dad, and that is it. I can tell you that I have been reading a book called "Knowing Bass" and that is what inspired idea.

My fishing buddy, who would help me out with this, said we could easily market it, and my dad, who has been fishing for 50 plus years said he has never heard of this and if he saw it on the shelf, he would definitely buy one.  I want to get some of the mold making stuff so I can make a few prototypes and test them out here in my waters and then send one to my dad to try out in the New York area.

I want to try it out first before I say anything though.  Thanks for the links Javelin and Frogger, much appreciated.

When you make then make curled tails so they drop slower...Causes more reaction strikes.. Harder hits to!

When you get them done if you want some test marketing let us know! :-*
I would not mind helping you with this and as they say word of mouth is the best way to go about it. I know that if you just sold them to members here it might take off for you. let us know if there is anything that we might be able to help you with it!

Stony: go to www.lurecraft.com they have all the supplies you need to make your own baits. Plastisol, glitter, colorant, a huge selection of molds and silicone kits to make your own molds. It's a great place to get started.
